I've had that problem myself in the beginning, the best solution for me was to simply not accept doing boring stuff. I would try something (PI, missions, mining) and found it a waste of my free time so I instantly decided to stop doing it. I kept digging till I found something I DID like (exploration) and put inthe effort to learn that. Everyone likes different things ofcourse so try a whole lot of stuff, really try it, and then decide.

If you choose to do something that requires almost no input (mining), you don't like it and you keep doing it anyway (for whatever reason) then you yourself are at fault. Put in time to find otherthings to do, ask around and go do stuff that may seem difficult, generally things that are difficult will keep you busy for a while.

Alright, thanks. I personally think pirating sounds like the perfect play-style for me. Sounds very heart-beating and exciting. I am currently trying to get into a certain pirating corp. Hoping they will teach me how to pirate and help me learn the game a bit better. It's just pirating sounds very complicated with all of the worrying about sec and stuff. Any tips on pirating would be helpful also. :)

When I was new I tried to do a bunch of different things, and while several of them were rather unconventional I had a blast doing them and earned much more isk and game knowledge than doing the usual mining or mission route.

This was what I did:
- head out to lowsec/null sec, learn how to use dscan, and try to salvage npc/player wrecks for profit.
- scan out some lv 4 mission runner ships in hisec and steal their salvage
- look for random wormholes, find some gas sites and ninja harvest the high quality clouds before sleepers or other players get you
- data site low sec exploration
- start hauling cargo from one place to another and sell for profit

All of these were high risk, high payoff activities (and highly fun to me). There are also many more, like joining FW, or roaming lowsec with a friend or two. Finding the right corp for your interests is essential though. Since this game does not have much predetermined content you will have to rely on others with similar interests and in your creativity to do all the fun stuff.

And there are lots of possibilities for that, especially early on when death is not an issue. Look up some videos and guides and you will probably find something you enjoy doing.

I've made a signature. I hope you're enjoying it. www.evetrademaster.com - web based asset manager & profit tracker

Hey guys, just wanted to say that I decided I would join an industrial corp for now. I also really like the mining aspect of the game, so I will be investing my time in that for now. I decided to buy the game because I am enjoying it so much also now. The gameplay is so much better than it seemed at the beginning, and i'm happy to actually be enjoying this game. Thanks everyone!
