Tournament Price Ships? Unbalanced?

The use of tournament price ships seems to be a disadvantage for teams not able to bring em on the field. In the spirit of a tournament I am starting to doubt if this is really fair. The loss of whatever 50b is not really a blast. If I want to see uneven matches i can follow 0.0 warfare, in a tourney I want to see pilot/team quality on a even basis. Question

This is not a blame to the teams bringing them right now, it is withing the tourney rules, but generally.

Just my 5 cents.

What's your opinion?

Well, there's no lack of isk with any of the likely winner candidates, and neither do they see them as isk. And they only field them against each other.

But yeah, in principle I agree.

The problem really is, that they don't cost any more points then the normal versions. So you can get a significant performance advantage over others at no sacrifice in your fleet composition. It's intentionally designed to favor previous winners over new teams. I think from CCPs perspective the entertainment of getting people to use and destroy unique ships outweighs the fact it unbalances the actual fights. Personally it's nice to see them die, but I think they should cost more points than normal ships.

maybe, just maybe, if the Etana pilot for a certain alliance could rep a single person before dying -.-

statistics don't lie

Basilisk: 28x fielded, 17 lost
Etana: 4x fielded, 3 lost

o\

i just locked an open door.. strange, yet symbolically compelling.

Don't worry. We are doing our best to get rid of all the prize ships.

Signed

The AT is supposed to be for who bring the best team + skill. Not who one the last AT and has the most TShips.

The commentators have said a million times now oh this "malice is soo strong" or this Camion "its like a mini drake" yeah and they cost the same amount of points? They don't realise they are advertising the flaw in their work.

I love the AT ships. They are great for the tourney.. but please CCP balance the points to reflect there effectiveness. Make them very small amount more. Malice 5 points is about right.

Don't forget, you can ban tournament hulls too, if you're that worried about them
