Probably bumping miners themselves. You guys don't half provide a lot of tears.

And as I said before, have you tried shooting them? Or going somewhere else? Or not mining?

Ok gonna go shoot at them in as a new character and first time Eve player.. brilliant idea, lets go shoot at someone and be totally out gunned out classed and out skilled. you're intelligent.

I have an issue here.. and will clarify: Ganking is a part of the game.. if you can be ganked, you can also tank your ship to attempt to avoid being ganked (before concord come along) and this removes some of the yeild of the mining operation, but to me 2-3 ice per 30 minutes is a small price to pay for not losing an Xmillion isk ship...

the consequence to being ganked, or having someone attempt to gank you is for concord to come in and destroy the ship (they lose a ship, they lose standing, they cant leave a station for 15 minutes or get raped by concord again.. etc)

however, with regards to bumping, it is JUST as damaging "financially" as ganking, however there is NO CONSEQUENCE to bumping.. (ie you can bump all day with no action from concord and/or no action that you can take to forcefully stop it), if you get bumped you cant fight back against the hostile action because you will be concorded, you cant wardec most of them because most (and i use the term most because i appreciate its not all) of them will simply drop and recreate the corp to avoid the wardec - so there is no point parking that navy raven or tengu off the icebelt because you cant physically do anythign with it without losing a huge amount of isk (in the form of the ship)...

ok, let me throw in a suggestion here..

Suspect for repeated 2-3 bumping within a set time frame.. could work - install safeguards.. no suspect for fleet, corp or within say 100km of a station (safezone)..

Well that's a fair response since I didn't actually read it, having read a thousand similar threads in the last few months.

So I went back, read the OP and was hardly shocked by the absence of any proposed solution. The closest you got was, "a legitimate undesirable consequence from bumping". Um, like what?

So I ask again, what is your proposed solution?

the solution is for the PLAYERS of Eve to figure out. simply bringing the issue to awareness is my sole purpose atm.

petitioning CCP for an agreed mechanic is something we will all have to take part of for we the players are Eve.

And when I park my Talos in front of someone's moving mining or mission ship, get bumped a few times by them and kill them to death the second they turn suspect, you'll come straight back here to cry about how your anti-bumping gimmick is being abused.

Can you not just orbit? Or GO SOMEWHERE ELSE?

This is your problem. Their goal is to harvest tears. They're currently mining you because you give them a constant supply. You're like a veltsbar asteroid that never pops.

Oh. Well done for a mission accomplished. People are now aware of miner bumping.

I think you should focus your effort on a practical solution ratherthan ewaiting for other people to do so.

thats fine and dandy if i wanted that kind of gaming experience, but unfortunately that gaming experience is in almost all MMOs.
the solution should NOT have to be moving to null with just barely 1mil SP and no assets get into some big fancy corp like GOONs or TEST alliance, and then learn from there and never get to enjoy Eve for what you are paying for because when in GOON or Test your just a grunt, a KM and a solider. you are there to follow orders and do what they want.

WoW is boring, Runescape is old and repetitive. other space MMOs dont stack up or hold the desire of a great gaming experience like Eve dose

what can a 100k sp character do in null other than being a KM for other enemy factions or corps?
just make like corps and float around in space frozen being utterly useless?

so Spacemonekys?
what do you players do with new recruits that are also new character that know how to play but just dont have the SP to play?

but this topic isnt about that this is about the fact that we can can flip and have suspect we can gank and get concorded and have all these other consequences but not for bumping someone out of a belt unless we pay these players for a game we have already paid for.

Go join eve university or something, one of the groups that will teach you how to play the game. Mining is...easily the worst thing to do, especially as a newbie.

You cannot shoot the bumpers, you cannot stop the gankers before the destroy their target, you cannot shoot the spotters,, you cannot wardec the new order. All you can do is tank to make it uneconomical to gank, move to other systems or leave Eve when they show up in force, or shoot the new order looting ships.

this is a sandbox you have the option of safely building a castle in highsec. and other players have the option of knocking it down.

I am almost positive highsec has these things called wardecs.. hire a merc or pay alliances the isk that keeps bad people from bumping you all day.

The game gives you the tools to fix your own problem. not ccp's fault you are unwilling to use them.

While I don't particularly agree with the New Order nor their Playstyle, I see their activities as 100% legitimate.

There are certain areas of the game that are simply twisted and unbalanced. For example, you can operate in a nullsec system in a complete 100% risk free manner. This is because local lets you know with 100% certainty whether or not there is a hostile in system. The creative solution people have come up with is to leave cloaked AFK ships in system all day, every day, thereby eliminating the "risk free" environment brought about by the omniscient local chat feature.

Likewise, in highsec, there exists a large class of players that make themselves immune to being bossed about. They join NPC corporations that don't tax their income streams, so the only true hassle they faced was "suicide gankers". When CCP balanced exhumers (which was a good thing IMO), it made this risk-adverse class of citizens even more difficult to impose upon. The new order has found a loophole in game mechanics that allow them to extort and control the activities of others. In a game of intense competition (and this is a very competitive game whether you are play casually or not), their alternative methods of influencing players are ingenious and should be encouraged. Now, once CCP addresses un-wardeccable players, I'll support some limitations on bumping, but not bloody-well until then!!!
