story line missions? all security?

Hi all, I am doing mining missions for KK corp to up my standing and everytime I get a storyline mission its for security. Are all storyline missions security or what? Really dumb if they all are suricty, just saying. Thank you for the answers that will be coming and answering this question.Smile

Storyline missions don't really have a type, you'll get security-type missions, courier missions, deliver ore missions. The storyline agents have a type, but that doesn't affect what kind of mission you get

The mechanics for storylines are a bit wierd.

Once you've finished 16 missions at a given level for a given faction you'll get a storyline mission from the closest storyline agent for that faction.

One can use sites like eve-agents to find where the various storyline agents are (ignore their level, the mission will be at the same level as you completed your missions at).

If you want standings with a specific corp, you can select where to run your missions and in a way select where you'll get your storyline.

If you don't plan ahead you'll get a mission for the correct faction, but a random corp and random type of mission.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

A ton of storyline missions are not security...

I can't tell you how many times I've had story line missions that are:

Bring me X units of mineral/ore XYZ.
or
Courier these janitors/supplies/whatever to station X-Delta-K.

Generally, security story line missions give the largest standings boosts.

or

Grinding stats with two account in parallel I ended up with the trader getting a security mission and the combat guy getting a distribution mission.

They solved each others missions ;)

When grinding standing, I always make sure to run storylines with the same corp. It takes some planning, but the standing boost from a storyline can be HUGE (example: 24%).
