Walking In Stations game suggestion: "Going To Dinner" (non-combat game)

I think it would be refreshing to introduce a game mechanic to Eve that doesn't involve combat. Idea

How about a game where you could ask an NPC quest giver out on a date? Blink

At the end of the date, the NPC could offer a mission to the player. The mission experience would vary depending on what options the player selected during that date.

For example, if the player gave the NPC a bad time, the NPC could put a bounty on the player's head to encourage other players to kill them. Alternatively, the NPC might offer the player a seemingly simple mission that ends with the player getting assassinated.

If the player did well, they could receive a gift of clothing. Or maybe their standings with a faction improve?

AWESOME!!!

It should be skill based. There should be a circle. And that represents your mouth. And you have to guide to object to the circle. That represents the food. And. And. There is a force that radiates from the circle. From the center of it. So you are using the cursor keys - but the food goes passed the center of the circle and ohhh noo - you are now accelerating the food away - but time's run out and that mouthful ended up on your hsoulder.

NPC does not look happy. You are now heading towards a rubbish mission.

A bit like the Red Dwarf episode "Legion" using antimatter chopsticks.

But srsly - I'd love more WiS content!

Oh no...please...it's not a Quest Giver...it's an Agent or a Mission Agent and this isn't WoW! WoW like rant over:

WiS should never have happened, it should, IMHO, never happen. Leave that door shut, in fact weld the damn thing shut until you have EVE proper sorted.

I'd love the walk down my hanger checking out my ships all docked like cars all lined up in front of a garage but the core application i.e. EVE Online needs making right before WiS is ever revisited.

These are just my opinions but I don't support the OP's idea.

+1 * infinity. Need more food themed mini-games in EvE. Its severely lacking in this department.

You really think someone would do that? Just log into EvE and tell lies?

The dinner mechanic should be based off the Surgeon Simulator engine with the date success measuring on how much food you eat and deducted by how much food you get on your date and table.

I think eve does need more to to make the game feel more alive, one guy sitting on a bench does not make it very convincing that there are other actual people in the universe. I think little distractions like this would be fun to break up the monotony of space.

Exactly.

Now take a look at your list of games - not just Eve.

I bet many are combat-based - Call of Duty, Skyrim etc.

How refreshing would it be to have a game mechanic that involves emotional intelligence, lore, or some other non-combat abilityQuestion

It would really stand out.

How about a "Going to Toilet" mini-game? I am sure many of us can relate to it. Or who here has not docked up to run to the toilet?

If i had to choose any "social" activity for walk in stations, that would be gambling for sure.

GamblingAttention That's a good idea Smile

CCP were working on a version of Slay:

You could play against the NPC for all sorts of stakes.

There are also other alternatives - poker, chess, and cribbage etc.

Actually yea.

WiS hanger watch. Walk through the station and look at all the pretty docked ships.

That's actually simple enough that people would do it.

Ship spinning 2.0, except you get to see what ship the ganker is going to kill you with.

In that regard, many people may get a kick out of displaying there rare ships.

Yaay!!!!

Definitely, Skyrim only scratches the surface of interaction without a sword or fireballs, eve has a chance to do something new here but instead focuses on the same stuff we have known for years.
