i'd suggest moving this thread here so the devs could look at it:

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=270

its a great idea. It would be cool seeing everyone running towards their ships when there is a CTA :D
one reason a lot of players tend to leave eve in the first few hours of playing is because they don't see anyone else. But if they started out in a station with lots of players walking around then they would know they aren't alone

DUST coming to PC is the key; WiS won't be worth it without meaningful gameplay. Fleshing out the bio-dome of that one Gallente station would be cool, but better would be missions that require you to get out of the pod and explore some abandoned station.

It'd probably bet better using DUST

DUST is going to die before it ever gets to the PC.

I still think Jita 4-4 is to small. No way it could hold that many ships at once.

We should be able to dock at the moon directly, would be way cooler.

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.

While I see why one would hate roleplayers, I do not understand why you would not welcome to have more of them as possible targets.

I haven't read all of this but the first thing that sprang to mind was this:

Why is it that the ones most vehemently opposed to WiS are all Goons or Goon wannabes? (I still have trouble believing that such a thing even exists, that really is kind of sad...)

Seriously, is this just another case of the Goons being "here to wreck your game"?

And why the hate for roleplayers? What exactly is it we're doing that's so bowel-clenchingly "KEEP THOSE SONS OF BEACHES AWAY FROM MY GAME!" terrible? I'm genuinely curious, because as far as I can tell all we're doing is playing EVE.

And this! this is the problem, right here. People have got it into their heads that WiS content = playing dressup.

Understand - the people who are calling for this stuff want actual content. EVE content, involving scams and capitalism and opportunity and risk and reward and other players and the sandbox.

Nobody is calling for a science fiction dollhouse where we can brush our hair and get the coffee table just right. that's an afterthought, the thing you do when you're waiting for the FC to wake up. We're calling for the game to expand into stations and bring us new means to make money, new ways to rip each other off, new assets to put on the line, and new rewards for success.

You're right, this is EVE, not Barbie. and what we are calling for is...

Are you paying attention? This is important.

we are calling for EVE in stations

Hell, I'm renaming it right now. We're no longer calling it Walking in Stations. Just walking makes for dull gameplay. As of this moment, forget WiS, Incarna and Ambulation, they're all officially rebranded.

EiS - EVE in Stations. That's the new name . Remember it and use it.

Well if CCP had their way we would be getting closer to that but the vocal playerbase started crying so hard after Incarna that they decided to "focus on spaceships" - which we can see now just means they will rehash and re-release existing content until they have they run out of "spaceship"-content to rehash. Twice.

So come back in five years or so and maybe there will be some visible progress towards your vision of EVE.

Of course, Eve is only this... Never mind the people who make all the ships that get blown up. Never mind the traders who move the ships to you so that someone can fly them and get them blown up. Nevermind POSes, the people who make them, and their fuel. Who cares about those things right?

We could obviously carry on as normal if no one made any of those things. The fact of the matter is that more people make your ships than blow them up.

Also, nobody wants Barbie. Eve in Stations sounds much better. I'll be using that in future.

The Goons are just trolls, always whining when CCP doesn't look at them. They just want attention. They don't want real additions to the game because they don't want to adapt their gameplay. So they ***** and complain about the game changing for the better, so they can stay atop the mountain of stupid **** they built. This is, until the game dissolves around them and eventually they are forgotten as losers who did something in an old forgotten MMO. Then I will laugh, and hope the majority of them kill themselves.

For now, I just hope we get EvE in stations, and disregard all the whiners who moan about "barbies in space". Goons certainly live up to their namesake, most of them are just about as foolish as one would expect a goon to be.

You really think someone would do that? Just log into EvE and tell lies?

You at the very least gave your character freckles and lipstick and took the time to pose her and sort out the lighting and background.

Try to picture it just like you see your character walking
In the hanger but in a huge stations where you see shops and other
Players walking around. Like a huge mall where you can go shopping
For clothes ship modifications, luxury ships for style or even walk
In to meet your friends in a bar station and have a drink.
That to me would be phenomenal game experience in eve and attract
New players because of the social out come of it.

I know that will never happen but I think if it were to happen
More ppl would get highly addicted to eve online.

What do you think and what are your thoughts on that?

That was actually planned. It was called "walking in stations" and it turned out to be vaporware.
