Lost Scan Probes?!

Did a little exploring, found a worn hole, went through it...to Sleeper space...result, ship destroyed. My probe launcher and all my probes were on it. Of course it's, unrecoverable.

I've bought another probe launcher. Tried to "reconnect lost probes" about a thousand times but I always get "communication to probes failed" messages when trying to analyze.

How the heck do I fix this so I can scan again?

I haven't tested how to do this since the changes in Odyssey. It used to be, that you could reconnect to your old probes by flying back to the system you left the probes in and hitting reconnect to lost probes.

However, CCP made it so probes auto return to your bay after they "time out" (~1 hr) or when you leave system. If you are in a POD though, they can't return to your bay, because you don't have a bay. My gut feeling is, they simple get destroyed.

Do you see them on directional scanner?

Nope.
I'd buy more if I could find any but the market doesn't list scan probes.

put probe into the market search bar... They are listed under ammunition and charges. There may be none available within your current region.

Reconnect to lost probes is for when you've left probes that you launched behind in a system, then go back to that system to pick them up. However leaving probes that have been launched behind is no longer possible in Odyssey, so that option's a little useless.

Regardless, it requires you to be in the system that the probes were in, not somewhere else in the galaxy.

As for scan probes, they're on the market.

Ammo -> Probes -> Scan probes. Make sure you have your market set to region, not system. If there are none on sale anywhere in your region (unlikely), go to one of the market hubs. The two in Minmatar space are Rens and Hek
