morphite shenanigans

Howdy. I've been out of the manufacturing scene for a few months and just getting back into it. I've noticed that morphite, which previously has always been an extra material on invented blueprints, is now moving around or appearing double. For example, T2 blasters, the morphite cost has moved from extra to base material (which can be affected by ME), and as another example, the gyrostabilizer ii now has doubled in morphite cost by appearing in both extra materials and base materials.

There are many other modules with their morphite costs messed up, it seems very whimsical and I was unable to find mention of the changes in any patch notes over the last few months since I became too busy irl to do eve indy. What I'd like to know is if this is an intentional change? If so, when? (link to devblog/thread appreciated) Thanks in advance.

Morphite's been a base material in some T2 modules for quite some time.

For example, Light Ion Blaster IIs have needed it as a base materials since at least Incarna.

http://zofu.no-ip.de/bpo has older databases than I have on my site, and is listing it.

That site you linked lists everything as a base material when the RAM, robotics, PA and T1 gun are clearly in the extra materials section when you look at the blueprint in game. However the point is moot, as the total amount of materials has not changed. I was wrong about the gyro - it has always used 6 morphite (@ -4 ME), but it was previously all in the same place not split 3 and 3.

Zofu's site doesn't make the difference quite so obvious as mine.

But it does show the quantity of morphite changing dependant on the ME. Which wouldn't happen with something that's only an extra material.
