Don't shoot people who steal your loot, problem solved.

I do but I worry about him stealing a rare faction or officer drop from me. That stuff is very expensive

Don't worry about it.

I've seen some people saying that the best ISK/hour from missions comes from skipping the looting and salvage and just rushing through the missions as fast as you can for the LP. I'm not sure how true it is, but I skip the loot/salvage anyway as I enjoy the shooting much more than the looting.

then where do you get them? Combat sites or null sec ratting

Those, or LP stores for the faction. Which for pirate gear means nullsec mission running.

Faction items: lowsec/nullsec belt rats (random faction spawn), DED sites
Deadspace items: DED sites
Officer items: random nullsec belt spawns (also faction items)

And what guy above said about LP stores. Big smile

well that is annoying.

I suppose that high sec DED sites offer reduced gains?

because all I can really afford to risk in low and null is a cruiser and I suspect you can't do much with that.

As a new player, train battleships.

While people are 100% correct in the fact drake & tengus can do level 4's, the truth is a t1 fitted battleship CAN do a lvl 4, not saying its ideal and yes its far from perfect but it can be done.

Now on the flip side, a tengu solo lvl 4? i would guess a minimum of 4 months sp training, youd really need to get those core skills way up there.

besides, 750dps tengu, or a 1.1k dps battleship? whats going to clear missions faster at the end of the day and the suns going down?

easy answer.

Yes, for example you can't get battleship sized modules from hisec DED sites but cruiser sized C-type/B-type and rare A-type drops are still good. You will have more problems with other players running the same sites in hisec. Of course that's now a bit more balanced since you can't run 3/10 and 4/10 sites in T3 anymore.

Officers are also a lot tougher than they used to be so I wouldn't even recommend going against them alone.

Paul, sorry to be blunt here but can you not afford to drop a little IRL money on a PLEX or two to sell on the in-game market to give yourself a little kickstart?

If you do that, be smart, research where it is selling for the highest price and put your character in that station BEFORE buying the PLEX so that it will deposited in that hangar. Don't try to transport PLEX.
