Goons Doomsday Event - Recap!

The Aftermath

having some test runs on Saturday with the first arriving carebears... and shooting down 2 haulers it looked like we were ready for the event on Sunday... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfS_DHwuMLA&feature=share&list=UUfYuJXr_tazNNqRvBgmoiUw

all started with a bombing run by Gods Prohet blasting a cyno infront of Mittanigrad to unleash fear and crumble the walls of the castle deep inside... goons where shouting: "YOU ARE USING SUPERIOUR TECH AGAINST OUR T1 SHIPS!" and yes they were right, we came with technology beyond their imagination! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxtE84u6Bus&feature=share&list=UUfYuJXr_tazNNqRvBgmoiUw

Gods Prophet licked blood and could not stop shooting bomb after bomb at the infidel, sitting in a bomber for the first time the precision he run his strikes is unmatched in the universe! I even got this footage where we see the bomb smacking the goons right in their face! Nice shot! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2XilCQvRDs&feature=share&list=UUfYuJXr_tazNNqRvBgmoiUw

But this was not all, stocked up with my beloved stab fitting, we were able to do another devastating strike against the mindless puppets! Joepopo himself came with his instacane, to show me he’s the fitting expert, jumping from I-30 to VFK he locked on like expected, but what happened? I laid back and warped out... just seconds after that, he was shot down by some mercs, blasting his ship to pieces!!... would he have survived using warp stabs? who knows... he for sure did underestimate the dangers of the void

After that 20 people showed up swirling around Mittanigrad but 40 people at the station refused to fight and just cuddled eachother in their quarters!

I remember the words: "WE WILL BLOB YOU WITH A 100 MAN FLEET!" but where was this fleet? ...those goons sure know how to write science fiction!

AND THE PRIZES GOE TO!!:

* Telegram Sam for bombing Raff's T1 cruiser but only scratching that coward because he was hugging the station! + shooting down a Bantam right after that! keep hitting Sam! - Caracal!

Prizes will be contracted over later today! Investors who are not happy with the outcome, please let me know and I will fully reimburse your prize with ISK!!

Anybody else thanks for supporting this! It was tough to set it up and there was a unbelievable amount of resistance by some people but we still managed to get carebears there, had some fun and made some videos! Thanks to the team and everybody who joined or supported us on the forums!

Looking at the KB I see you took a few blows and I see you took some advice and got rid of the stabs eventually, very good. I am glad you had fun, Harry. Keep it up. I urge you however, to lurk around Fountain, as others have suggested, to get more kills or (maybe) even good fights. Avoid CFC blobs. Perhaps even camp a system inbound? Keep it up!

So back to the real world...
Most of what happened was Harry & Co sitting cloaked off the stations and gates refusing to fight a T1 Cruiser, even when offering to warp to them in 5v1. The "end of Goons" resulted in less than 10 people showing up, while as expected, Goons fought in 6VDT against an actual enemy.

On a side note, at the times where I was at home yesterday, I was there. You just don't know my character names.

Basically you raged out on the forum and claimed you were quitting your little event, then turned up with a couple of noobs, caused no lasting damage and performed what you refer to as "smack talk" (more akin to a 6 year old raging out, at one point he told someone they stink! Harsh words!).
Sounds like someone trying to cover up the butthurt from their failure to me.

On a side note, while you were busy doing nowt, the CFC were busy winning fountain, which was a success. Congratulations on achieving nothing. Now head on back to high sec to cry because you got war decced.

Just looking though the killboard, I've noticed that the hurricane you find so amusing that Joe lost was lost in trade for a 200m Raven, and 100m Tornado and a 30m Thorax. Nice one Joe, that's a pretty good trade.

Loads of rage. From reading this and the other thread it seems that most of what you did was cloaking and running away. Sounds like you had no balls yourself there. I didn't come because your massive amounts of rage meant the day before you had 3 people signed up, and then you posted up saying you were quitting and locked the threads.
So you kill 2 cyno ships and help kill an Algos and that means you win a Tengu? Sounds like a fix to me. Were the cyno ships alts of yours?
Stupidity is thinking that anyone gives a **** about what you do.

I've gone back and read a few of your threads and you always seem to have the same thing. You talk some rubbish about something you know nothing about, then when anyone disagree you start insulting people and screaming BLOCK BLOCK. An absolute disgrace to the community you are. CCP should ban you.

Really? This is what you've taken from this?

I think the more important message is learn to take criticism without immediately acting like a child, throwing around insults and blocking everybody. The reason everyone is criticizing your idea is not because we are all haters, and haters gonna hate and all that. It's because your idea is stupid, and the way you planned and executed it was even more stupid. This was then proven by the fact that nobody turned up to your little event and the culmination of your efforts was a couple of people that chose to engage you and a bunch of cyno alts, vs a loss of over half a billion in ships.

Plenty of people told you time and again how you could have had more success, but instead of accepting their criticism, or even acknowledging and dismissing it, you resorted to insulting them and telling them they don't understand you because they are inferior.

You are a new player, so it's fine that you don't understand how the game works, but you've done nothing but act like a child throwing a tantrum and that is all people will see when they see you about now. You slap on your bio "King of high sec" and state how you are going to end the goons, but that doesn't make it true.

Thank you thank you but I cannot accept this prize. I brought over 72 million SP and a lot of 0.0 survival skills. Please take the Nemesis and save it for future events, or for future use by other players in need. I also have a manticore to donate for future endeavors, whether we have another event, or if we find allies in need.


From here, who knows? But whatever we do, we have now a good starting crew. We'll be the original "pirates" of nullsec. We'll be the pioneers of a new kind of game, going up against superior forces and against great odds.


By the way, after 7 years in game I have found myself doing things I never would have done before, and for reasons I would never have predicted, and looking at ships, skills, and tactics (I can fly a lot of ships, have a lot of skills, and know a lot of tactics) that I never looked and many I never knew about before) .

Harry's enthusiasm and PVP creativity is the cause of that.

I spent some time yesterday realizing that the game is never going to be the same for me again.

And that is the best prize of all.

Correction: we were circling that T1 cruiser with bombers waiting for a good range and time to strike. But the pilot was all over the place. Was he on Ritalin (or off it) or something?

The great thing about this is getting to know so many different people from all sides of EVE.

I mean, yesterday we had three Europeans, three Americans, one guy from Brazil - and that was only while I was there.

We had a great time, from making Gods Prophet happy by me saying: "Papers please!" to establishing that not all routes to VFK are the same...

I cannot remember having laughed that much in EVE in a long time and truly enjoyed it.
Also, we are all very different characters, but I feel that this group can be the core of a very good little squadron if we continue to fly together.

So lets see where it leads from here? We had some ideas we discussed yesterday in fleet speech.

By the way, after 7 years in game I have found myself doing things I never would have done before, and for reasons I would never have predicted, and looking at ships, skills, and tactics (I can fly a lot of ships, have a lot of skills, and know a lot of tactics) that I never looked and many I never knew about before) .

Harry's enthusiasm and PVP creativity is the cause of that.

I spent some time yesterday realizing that the game is never going to be the same for me again.

But this was not all, stocked up with my beloved stab fitting, we were able to do another devastating strike against the mindless puppets! Joepopo himself came with his instacane, to show me he’s the fitting expert, jumping from I-30 to VFK he locked on like expected, but what happened? I laid back and warped out... just seconds after that, he was shot down by some mercs, blasting his ship to pieces!!... would he have survived using warp stabs? who knows... he for sure did underestimate the dangers of the void

After that 20 people showed up swirling around Mittanigrad but 40 people at the station refused to fight and just cuddled eachother in their quarters!

I remember the words: "WE WILL BLOB YOU WITH A 100 MAN FLEET!" but where was this fleet? ...those goons sure know how to write science fiction!

Yeah. You ran out to null and cloaked up scoring a grand total of 0 kills. You have finally learned to do what a 1 week old alt can do all day. And it's changed the game forever!

Was fun. Smile But it looks like I (well, my alt T. Sam) missed being on when the funnest action was happening. Looking forward to the next one-- maybe take it to Fountain next time?
