CCP - Closing Jita on busy days is not acceptable.

Once again trying to go to Jita and the system is shutdown due to overcrowding.

I realize that there are limits your server can handle in terms of connections to clusters....

I've always thought that one method you could use to alleviate congestion is to allow people to have goods bought in Jita automatically delivered by (insert RP friendly NPC service here) to any of the adjacent systems.

Perhaps this would only be allowed used on days where your hardware cannot keep up with the amount of people trying to enter the

Jita being closed is the penance you have to pay for dealing with Jita

It's not closed. It's just that so many think just like you and figure that, hey, on the day when everyone else is going is when they should go as well.

Do you trading from outside the system, and only move goods in and out when there's less traffic. Alternatively, use the tools at your disposal to get the stuff out. It's all there already and adding NPCs to steal players' opportunities is a horrible idea.

…and even at poplock, it's pretty trivial to get into Jita anyway.

FYI, Jita is not the only trade hub in New Eden. Lazy are you ? I've not even had reason to go there in at least 2 years. And make a lot more ISK selling at other hubs.

There's really no reason why you can't buy what you need in Amarr, 95% of the stuff sold in Jita is sold there as well.

And it's not closed, the gates are just limiting the number of people entering. If you want to get in, just try spamming jump for a few minutes, it always works.

I guess he means his station trading alt that is sitting in jita and can't login there. Yes you can login in an adjacent sys. Another hub is rather not the solution for a station trader having a few... Orders in jita.

Sure, but in that case, there's even less reason to be in Jita.

I shop in a few of the hubs. Amarr really doesn't have all the things i often want sometimes. A few meta fits for some of the corps newbs or myself and its surprising how often a jita run is needed. Also i sell my PI stuff there since i often get better prices.

But even that is not the point. 2000 or whatever the limit is, is quite low for 30k people logged in. I would far prefer a patch to fix the low limits for things like jita and for time dilation with fleet battles. From a programming perspective there should be no problems with 2000 players in a system at once. Yes that sort of thing is my day job.

Of course even today it only took 5min at the jita gate to get in. So its not that hard to get there.

One temp fix would be a explicit que to get in... You are 155th in the que to enter jita. Please hold.

Oh, that would explain why all those other games have it, and not EVE.

That only proves that games are often poorly coded. Nothing more.

Jita is not closed... however a thousand jetcans shitting up the grid doesn't help either.

Workaround: trade remotely.

Yes it is a solution.

Place no orders in Jita. Problem solved.
