My first L3 platform was a dual-MAR Myrmidon - of course, this was back when there weren't any such things as DDA's or reactive armor hardeners, and I was still learning, so I went with three CCC rigs, three cap rechargers, MWD, railguns, and a tracking computer, and supplemented the reppers with two EANM's and a DC. I used small and medium drones in L3's; this was also when the Myrm had only 75mb bandwidth, and I didn't have sentry or heavy drone skills back then either.

Nowadays, I think the fit would change, given the advent of DDA's and the changes to the Myrmidon.

The Vexor Navy's a nice alternative, though it's twice as expensive and doesn't have the Myrmidon's defensive bonuses; the Gila can mount an insane tank and has the drone firepower of a battleship, but costs as much as a battleship; and the Ishtar needs a lot of skilling into (as well as being nearly as expensive as the Gila.
