I see people (mainly in the IGS forum) with Suits and Military-type uniforms in their Potraits.

where do they get these from?

also, how are you guys manipulating the camera to get full-body poses? the most i could ever get is from my shoulders up. and thats only if I draw the camera all the way back.

I bought this shirt from the Noble Exchange, with the AUR currency which you can buy with real money. Check around your Account Management page if you're interested. It's there, somewhere.

As to the other question I'm not sure, but you can zoom in and out and pan pretty far iirc.

You can also buy these clothing items in Jita.

Some are cheap some are expensive, like the Monocle I am wearing.

I bought some nice looking gear almost right away, thing is that it's not really much use as there's no valid reason to actually be in "avatar mode".

Just think how great you'll look when you get to walk around in the stations!

Is this something which is actually supposed to happen?

The visual character creation is pretty elaborate for something which just allows you to stand around in a room...

I'll have to take a look at the Noble Exchange next time I am ingame.

I'd like to have a suit, with a tie. Not a Military Uniform, just a plain suit. with a tie.

I was actually being a smartass with reference to something that was supposed to happen, but never has.

Originally, you never left your ship. There was no captain's quarters and you never really saw your character except in a 2D profile image in local or at log in.

An expansion that happened a couple years ago changed that. It was supposed to set the stage for a beautiful utopian world where you could leave your captain's quarters and actually walk around the stations. Even deeper into this dream were things like bars, shops (player owned or otherwise), etc.

Instead, we have a door that never, ever, opens.

Don't buy AUR for the NEX. I think a PLEX will get you about 2800 AUR which will buy you 1 or two classic NEX pieces or a few 2nd gen items. A PLEX can instead get you 500m+ in ISK which can get you a ton of apparel, some of which are not available from the NEX shop from any trade hub. Most of the 2nd gen NEX items sell for about 12m so a PLEX can get you a decent wardrobe from the player driven market.

I want to see a large team of DUST 514 mercs hold Jita hostage.

Is that so wrong?

LOL But actually, I'd love to see the stations as neutral zones where capsuleers can interact (and Dust players, too). I realize it would be a massive undertaking, but integrating station services like repairmen, faction recruiters, shops, etc would be hella tight and would add a layer of depth to the out-of-pod experience that is lacking now.

There were a lot of other "player owned" ideas that where passed around that would take advantage of this and add some pretty interesting depth to the game, not to mention increase the "social" element.

You can probably search the forums / google for a lot of it.

In the meantime, enjoy the door.
