Buy the Social skill book (it's cheap). You'll train it to Lvl 4 in about 22 hours, and it gives you a bonus of 5% per level to agents. Then you're qualified to also train Connections for further bonuses. You'll get a fair amount of freebies with missions that you can sell, as well as some blueprints that you can manufacture into ships and mods-make and sell those too. Also, as you skill-up, sell anything you've outgrown (books, mods, ships, etc). I've been doing that all along and funding new goodies with the proceeds of all the above.

By the way, it doesn't take long at all to get to 4 in most things, and missions'll teach you a lot about the various aspects of the game and defining what you'll want your eventual path to be. They teach you a lot too, about what not to waste isk on, because as you run them you'll learn what you like and don't like and will then avoid blowing isk on ships, mods, etc. that you thought you wanted early on because they were badass but quickly learned you couldn't fly.
