POS's need some love.

POS Access control is terrible. There's no way of finely tuning who has access to what. I can speak for our wormhole alliance in particular, we have has a good number of corps created simply out of the need for better access control. To resolve this we need to scrap the current permissions system and replace it with an ACL (Access Control List) system. Each privilege such as "Fuel bay" would have several properties such as, "Deposit Fuel", "Remove Fuel" and entries could be made to this list including individuals, corporations, alliance, standings based.

So if I have a friend not in my corp or even alliance that I want to give specific rights to, I can. The current system results in something that is either too permissive, or too onerous on corp leadership to maintain.

Secondly pos's look terrible, the graphics need to be replaced with something like the popular modular pos concept. All the modules (like corp hanger) need to be integrated into that flexible model system. I've always wondered how my capitals can fit in those tiny things.

Lastly with the buffs that dreads are getting in winter, the starbase defense skill is looking pretty weak. With 4 gunners, you currently are able to cap out and destroy a typical dread if you spot when it goes into siege. Max dps of 4 gunners (large guns) is around 4000. An unmanned pos certainly should not be much of a threat to a 2-3 man dread gang. However if you are able to get 4 gunners on moments after a pos is attacked, I think you should be able to be at least a little scary. Maybe kill 1 of them before they reinforce your pos, which is pretty much the current situation. Of could this would have to be done without buffing them too strongly vs battleship gangs.
