Market interface ‘little things’

Hello MD people. There must be a thread somewhere about this but buggered if I could find it. What are you little ‘quality of life’ gripes with the market interface? Specifically NOT market mechanics please because that will derail.

Yes, these are little things and relatively unimportant. If you don't like the idea of improving the interface then post somewhere else.

1. A tick box to change the market screen focus to either buy or sell. Sell focus would open the modify order window when you double-click your own order instead of trying to buy your own stuff.

2. An option to either highlight the price (or not) on modify order. At the moment it seems random on all my machines.

3. An option to have the price in the modify order window as EITHER your current price or the lowest/highest order (depending on buy or sell focus).

4. Not actually market but being able to complete a contract by hitting enter a couple of times after entering the location, fee and collateral would be nice. At the moment you have to go Next, Finish etc which is just unnecessary clicks.

What else?

Have my own orders highlighted in blue instead of unmarked and mixed in with everything else. This is absolutely #1 for me.

A reasonable minimum bid increase for auction contracts. 26 bids! + 2.7m isk on a 500m item!

This list could end up massive though. The market interface is ancient and mostly ignored as it "does the job".

Surely you be a-trollin'. If not, a brief look at the market settings tab will make your day.

Well that's OK - we have at least one CSM member who is interested in the market. You never know...

Sadly, unlike a similar GD constructive thread, this is not going to get a dev reply. Please devs color me impressed by proving me wrong!

Anyway one thing I'd like to see is the ability to zoom in charts and to have proper candle bars, an early 1990 feature for most trading software.

It's sort of embarassing how I had to invent my own way to prepare viable charts and even more embarassing is for the EvE economists to have had to copy me, a puny end user, to present their data in a due professional way.

Considering EvE has all the data and technology to show proper charts, there's no excuse to keep us to the stone age.

Yeah, I'd love candles. You get so used to them in normal charting software and then ...

I'm not hoping for a dev response. I'm hoping that MDers post their ideas, Mynnna reads them and then bears them in mind if there is a suitable opportunity in CSM.

@ vaerah - but we are gonna get a dev response: "thread moved" :))

My little thing:
1. When trying to sell an item, i want the price be ready to be modified emidiatly, i mean already "selected", and not to be forced to double click on it to select it, then put my own price. We have that in "modify order" & "place buy order" already.

I have some more things, i will add them later :)

i would approve of the sell/buy price automatically being set to the 'correct' amount .01 isk below/above the current lowest/highest order. there is no good reason why i should have to mousewheel it by .02 isk every time. many professional traders are already using external tools to achieve the same effect anyway.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Ability to see corp orders.

Ideally would be able to modify them with roles, but, at least they should be able to be marked.
