I originally bought it for the book, which ended up being really awesome. What I ended up liking the most was the soundtrack. Watching it on the fanfest stream was amazing and hearing it again was sublime.

Everything else in the package exceeded expectations (the Danger Game is dangerously fun, too).

I too primarily wanted the book.

The Rifter is now proudly displayed on my desk. It isn't as flimsy as some seem to suggest, and in fact is probably held together with more screws than a full-size Tempest.

The smell some people commented on is that of an oil-based paint, probably on the Rifter. I expect the odour will dissipate in time as it dries fully ("new ship smell").

CCP Guard hamming-it-up on the Danger Game canister just made me chuckle. I looked to see if there was an "* Actual size" printed anywhere. [Reminded me of old "Do you have Pall Mall in-a-can?" prank calls.]

Haven't decided what to do with the golden pod implant and the arm tattoo I still have a code for.

I've calmed down now, slightly, after blasting Lindsey Stirling's version of the Skyrim theme while I unboxed everything. I got this primarily for the book and the rifter, but I'm happy for the Danger Game and the soundtrack, and, hell, everything.

Pretty sure I pissed off my neighbor with my girlish screams of delight and overly loud music as I ripped everything open, and ran around the hallway going "Pew Pew pew!!!!" before I slapped myself and realized that Rifters use AUTOCANNONS, ya freaking nerd. Then I ran around making machine gun noises.

Eh, the other people on my dorm floor knew I was weird already.

And that long list of stuff when I redeemed my items?

:D:D:D

Thanks CCP!

regarding the golden pod, if you compare the regular pod with the golden pod it looks like crap up close.
very pixely and not very smooth.

i think the devs must have forgotten to polish the pod or something.

Tell me about it. I almost died when I redeemed the code and that list came up. Now that's the icing on the cake right there, everything else being brilliant as well. A great swag of in-game stuff CCP!

I like the USB ship and the book. I wish the pod was a lot more of a yellow-er gold color.

I was also quite disappointed in the pod, the adverts made it look like it was truly polished golden and shiny, it's more brown than anything else, in a way the green one looks nicer, or at least more detailed.

The rifter is awesome, I love it but no way would I use it as a USB port, it would get broken if it even sat on my desk let alone had things plugged into it... It's a shame it's a bit more flimsy than was expected.

The book is lovely, I really love how it's been done and it's very nice quality, though my paper cover was slightly ripped somehow.. I don't think it was as I was unwrapping it but you never know. My box was battered too , DHL clearly did not take care of it, it looks like something heavy was sat ontop of it as one of the sides is bent out of shape, if I try to bend it back it just crumples the print so is not worth it, I'm hoping that once it's on display it won't notice as much...

Overall pretty nice but not sure it's worth €150...

Book is awesome, CD and Game and Rifter are all awesome.

But.. I'm a sad sack and I was really looking forward to a nice shiny Golden Pod.

..except, now after hearing it's actually more like brown, doesn't look as good as the green one, and maybe isn't textured as well... I don't even want to plug it in :(

I'd rather wait and see if they make it properly shiny gold and textured properly.

It's a shame, 'cause I was looking forward to the pod most of all :(

So I have a question about the CE I bought from Amazon. I've only taken a moment to look at the CE when it arrived and mostly seemed nice.

So when I first ordered it from Amazon I got some codes for Eve and Dust stuff. I didn't seen any new codes in the physical CE when I got it, are there new codes coming from Amazon/CCP?

When can I expect those if there are and what else will I get from those codes?

Look in the CD packet? There's supposed to be little cards with codes

I don't have mine yet, though.

Got it as well!

First of all, thank you CCP for the effort you put in in this package. You can tell when something was made with attention to detail and respect. I enjoyed every moment, from delivery, through its weight, to the actual unboxing.

Now a more detailed look:

Real world items:

- The book is without a doubt a work of art. Superb quality, gave it to a friend that works in a printing press and he was amazed at how good it is. Excellent coverage of the 10 years of EVE and the different stories surrounding it.

- The rifter is low quality, but compensates it with size. It's pretty large. I doubt anyone would use it as a USB hub, but it looks good on top of my printer :)

- The danger game is a sentimental addition for CCP, not as much for the players, but I appreciate it, because it funded EVE. So it is related, despite what the crybabies er... cry about. The whole package is more like a 10 years of CCP than 10 years of EVE, especially with EVE, DUST, the Valkyrie fighter and the danger game. I'm completely ok with that. Oh and CCP Guard on the tin made my day :)

- The package for the soundtrack and the cars with different codes deserve a separate mention. All of them are awesome. I have been playing with them the whole day.

- The CD with the live performance of the EVE music is great, already ripped it into mp3 =P

Digital items:

- Golden pod looks nice and distinct. I like it.

- The Thrasher and the Anathema are welcome to my collector's hangar. Everyone loves a shiny ship.

- The Gnosis BP is very nice. Already put all 5 in the queue and the no material cost was a nice gift! Looking forward to blowing some in pvp and the rest sitting as collector's items.

- The tattoo I already sold, didn't care about it.

- The genolutions are already sold as well. Netted me more than a billion isk and I call that a good deal for something that I would never use and has no collector's value.

- The lore and meme items were lulzy and I appreciate the AT cards, will make fine addition to the NEO cards (go 8CAS!!!)

- I don't really care about clothes, but since they are there... already put them to good use ;) Even traded the female ones with another player for his male ones. I got only male characters, he has only female. Win win.

- <3 PLEX, nothing more to say here

- 60 day GTC already put to good use in another alt. I actually liked this feature of the collector's edition a lot more than I expected, can;t really explain it.

- don't play DUST and will probably use the dust code as a gift or wait until DUST comes to PC....

- don;t know if I'd play Valkyrie yet, so the fighter might be useful, if not, it'll be another gift.

- the cyber arm looks nice, looking forward to it

tl;dr: Physical items are of god tier quality except the rifter, but considering it's minmatar I can accept that. Digital items are one win after the next. Can't really complain about anything. Most are useful and the rest cna be sold for isk.

The crybabies will always be here, so just ignore them. Excellent edition that I enjoy. All in all 9/10 CCP. (wont; give you 10, because I don;t want you to get complacent ;)

I got my copy today from Amazon, using the slowest shipping option, so at this point most of the people who ordered it in the US should have their copy.

I agree that the art book is very good and is comparable to my other video game hardcover art books that are in the $40 price range. I do also love that big square slipcase Eve book which was available from the old Eve store, I believe that book (like most of the Eve merchandise) was printed in very small quantities and the prices for a new copy on amazon (none available on eBay) start at $300.

The USB hub is a bit disappointing considering just how amazing the battleship models from the old store are. It isn't really that bad, just isn't in the same amazing class as most of the stuff I have bought from the Eve store.

CCP also clearly stated that all the pre-order items are not exclusive, although it is implied that the other CE in-game items might be. Regardless, I really didn't have any interest in the in-game stuff since ISK is not an issue and I managed to buy all of the stuff offered with ISK even before my codes arrived.

It almost feels as though everything CCP has sold in both stores is a limited edition item. Even the new 0.0 clothing items sold out very fast (are they going to restock them?) with many jumping quickly to fairly low "item remaining" countdowns. CCP doesn't seem to care that they are not selling mass amounts of merchandise since everything is so expensive and they know that they have a small but dedicated market.

Sure the CE is expensive, but it is a limited edition item and at least some (if not most) of it's components will eventually become very hard to get. Your mileage will vary depending on what % of the items you want. Personally I wouldn't spend too much on anything but the book, but know I will eventually most likely end up spending over $150 on the book (none on eBay) alone someday. I still think someone can make some real life $ and a ton of ISK by buying a few CEs and selling the indivual parts on eBay.

Really like it. Wasn't expecting how much I enjoyed everything. The pod though....eh, not as shiny as I was hoping. Kind of a brushed gold color? Be great if you upgraded that.

But the rest is very well done. Great job.

Not sure if anyone else mentioned this, but did anyone notice that on the gold pod vs the regular pod that the gold pod had a targeting range of 75km? So one thing I was hoping for was that my pod would be able to lock people... not do anything to them obviously, but it would have been nice to lock them... But while the gold pod says it has a targeting range of 75km, it doesn't allow me to target someone.
