This is a fine and useful post. Because of that, though I'm usually happy to let people have their way with the English language, I'm with Tsukino and Katran here. Pretty please take an 'o' out of 'loose' in the thread title?

i had almost lost a astarte in the mission stop the thief. It was blasterfitted with gistum a-type mwd and about 1b off other stuff. i had 2 therm and 1 kin harder and i warped out in 10% hull.

and about your paladin fit: use tachyons, they do more damage over range. but you will need to replace the ab with a 2nd tracking computer. and i prefer the use of nosses more then capboosters, replace the tractorbeams and salvager with nosses. youre faster at looting with a noctis (more tractorbeamrange etc...) and you also have more cargo.

i'm REALY miss the old stuff.

I was watching your stream, but I left before the loss. Tough break, man...and I'm pretty sure almost everyone here has lost something shiny in a L4 mission. I once lost a Proteus with a 500mil MAR strapped to it.

Couple years ago I lost Rattle with 1600+ DPS passive omni-tank in L4. Now after returning I use cheapest and "tankiest" battleship for a day or two until I'm sure I do everything right (usually it's Dominix).

as for your loss: it happens to all of us, we get tired, we don't pay attention, we kill the multi trigger and spawn 1,094 incoming dps

To me it looks like this guy did it on purpose to make the video.

First he popped all the triggers right off the bat.

Then didn't even bother attacking the frigate scramming him till it was too late.

It was T2 fit with T1 rigs so other than the hull not a huge loss. I don't know about this guys wallet (I only saw the corp wallet in the vid) but to some a few bil is change. Especially if it gets him more viewers on Twitch.

My only though was, this los is well-deserved. Even more when this char really has no Thermodynamics skill.

You should have change the script in your tracking computer, so it's easier to hit the frigs.
Also: HEAT HEAT HEAT! Never not heat in such a situation. Skill it!

I do this mission a lot in my Apoc, T2 mods with T1 beams, T1 rigs.. 3 month old character...

What you do not understand is that he killed all the triggers meaning he had a shitload of DPS on him. I did like him once because the mission is *very* easy if you follow the trigger and i almost got my nightmare in armor -_-

Just about any competent mission fit can tank the whole dps without blinking. Fail pilot with fail fit is why he lost the Paladin.

you did so many things wrong, but returning after a break thats understable

big points for staying cool, I half expected a complete meltdown as you lost your pally

High slots are fine.

Mid slots fit
1 tracking computer
4 cap recharger

low slots fit
1 repper
1 hardener / 1 membrane IE ( kin/kin )
1 hardener 1 membrane IE ( ex / ex )
2 heat sinks

another low slot if you got the DPS for it
1 repper
1 membrane
1 membrane
1 nano adaptive
this uses less cap if you want to more resist use hardeners instead of membranes

when shooting drones tank Kin and EX

If your mission fit can tank the whole DPS, it's actually fail fit.

Faction armor repairer such as Ammatar Navy? It still wouldn't have helped him with popping all the triggers though.
