"We've lost another one", Depardue said half mumbling 'Sure, Dorn That's quite alright', mumbled Senior Region Overseer Travic. 'What did you say, boy?' Travis said somewhat confused, as he looked up from the stack of dusty papers.
"It looks like we lost another one, Customs Office V this time. Must be something wrong the telemetry. One by one they no longer seem to respond. Should I call head office? "
Make the call kid, nothing we can do from here. Could be a relay problem or it could be worse, I assume it will be the latter. In the corner of his eyes Depardue could see Travic shake his head in defeat.
I wouldn't want to be the maintenance guy they send, Travic started. 'What do you mean?,' Depardue asked.
Boy, you don't want to know, but let me tell you. If they offer you a promotion to a position described as 'for people who are looking for 'a challenging leadership position' with a 'measure of independence from head office' in a 'as of yet undiclosed location'... Travic paused before continuing.
