What have your experiences been like with this t3 ? How does it fare in combat ? Pros ? Cons ? I would love to hear what you think and see the ins and outs of this ship!

The Loki as a whole is something of a blank slat, the pros and cons differ between setups.

I've flown a few different kinds:
-a double-plated brick variant for AHAC fleets. It was reasonably utilitarian, DPS was pretty damned bad compared to Zealots, but triple webs kept a lot of guys in bubbles who thought they were getting out, EHP was nice (160K EHP before bonuses) and I had two flights of Warriors to **** tackle with.

-a webby, solo armor fit with MWD. I didn't get many good fights, because I was way too paranoid flying it (850M isk ship) and eventually sold it. In the few fights I did get, I could catch a lot of nano stuff that assumed I was shield tanked and webless, but if I couldn't get webs on, I had enough EHP to burn back to the gate and deaggro. Again, armor-tanking the DPS was pretty anemic (2 gyros, no TEs).

pretty much anything the loki can do, the sleipnir can do better. loki's only advantages are higher speed and smaller sig. oh, and it can get a 5k alpha which is kind of fun for such an agile ship.

I should buy an Ishtar.

it's also the only T3 ship that can field 7 weapon slots (and it can have drones while doing it too)

Pro: Fit Immobility Driver subsystem and have a guaranteed spot in an incursion fleet. Or wormhole fleet. Or damn near anywhere really.

Con: Hard to fit a good shield tank.

This is one of them topics where i can recommend that you search for past threads, since the questions have been up before, but ...

The Loki tend to excel in various support-roles while being less appealing in pure volume tank or damage roles, it's the:

1. Second best scout in the game (if you are willing to spend 500m on such a role), covert and web.
2. Best gang-booster in the game, provided you don't need both multiple links and grid-presence.
3. Useful with it's dual-tank options and web subsystem as a specialized secondary tackler in any gang*.
4. Useful in various sniping roles both with it's high alpha weaponry, possible links and possible webs.

*) The most useful of course the heavy armor configuration for heavy armor PvE or PvP gangs, that was mentioned.

The largest downside, as for most shield tanked ships - but the Loki in particular, is just like Dorian here above me says: the problems of fitting a comparable shield tank (for it's class) and still retaining the aspects of the ship that make it useful. For example, most configs have 4-5 midslots and it's difficult fielding MWD, point, web and a tank worthy of a 500m ship on that.

What would you place the loki out of that the tengu legion and proteus for pure 1 vs 1 fights brawln?

Well, nothing beats the Tengu in terms of T3s...its just superior all around.

I've flown the Loki and while its web bonus is nice and that its a good cloakie scout, it's lacking in DPS and range with autos.

I prefer the Legion in while it doesn't have a good electronics system and its cloakie set-up is poor, its still a very powerful brick with Assault Ops and Laser Legion. I suppose it could also be a booster as well.

In all honesty, if you want a T3, Tengu is the general use one. Legion is more of a DPS tank role. Loki is better as support. Proteus can be....uhh....It does stuff.

What i love about the Loki:

- 4 missiles, 3 guns, heaps of drones = a lot of DPS
- One fantastic scout, the best T3 there is to scout
- awesome tank Vs lazors
- Gang links are the best to use for any sub cap fleet
- Makes a great addition to Blops gangs

While it may have a smaller tank than the Tengu, less DPS than the Proteus, it makes up for it with its versatility.

Anyone who says its DPS is lacking has not fitted it right

could you post a tengu fit .... I have a faction tengu with all skills at 4 and 5 but i was not impressed and the same with the legion and proteus .... especialy the proteus but I am looking for a t3 that can 1 vs 1 in low sec (no cloaki) and win i can fly all t3's

100mn Tengu is probably going to be your best bet. Nothing beats the Tengu in terms of T3s.

^^^ except for incursion fleets where all missile ships are disliked. In there a 30-40km web loki can almost half the completion time of the site and the legion is the go to ship for frigate shooting.

you can't have both.

but it's possible to do the 7 weapon slots config if you mix the logi sub with the engineering subs that give +1 hislot (usually the power grid one), in conjunction with either the AC sub, the arty sub (altho it won't work as good here), or the mixed weapon sub.

I've flown the Loki in one of two roles (I actually have two Lokis, one for each). The first is the command/rapier loki combo (covert cloak, skirmish link, dual webbys with bubble immunity). And the second is a SNAC configuration for yummy alpha goodness.

Both setups have performed above and beyond any other T3 in the roles I've stated.
