Wolfpacks of Destroyers

I feel like I belong here.

For a long time I have a special fit Thrasher using a HM bay that, with a web, can one-shot large drones. For the most part it's just a ratting and LOL ship - an experiment to see if you could fit a HM bay on a destroyer.

For comparison, a rigged up Kestrel with a web could take down other ships much faster.

The problem is that one-up in size missile fitting is good against larger ships but a destroyer goes down rapidly to a larger ship.

The changes will fix that - if you consider that DPS is a kind of tank: take down your target faster and they are not persisting long enough to do more damage.

We'll see what the future holds.

Now if they only boosted drone bay capacity for the Catalyst....

Bring back DEEEEP Space!

Yes a full rack of neutrons fits with moderate fitting skills, it's tight. On my gank alt the power grid is exactly maxed with a full rack of neutrons, no room for anything at all including scram. With better skills you can get one on there.

Edit: And that 's M0 neutrons too, higher meta fits even better.

Catalyst + rack of M0 neutrons and a couple volleys of faction AM = fun times

Now with this buff this thing is going to be a monster. Seems too good to be true.

Check out a Catalyst fit with 200mm Autocannon II's.....and Hail charges. Got room for a 200 mm tungsten plate, repper, damage control, scrambler and mwd.

Add some small projectile rigs and Evefit says a DPS of 206 and a volley of 729.

I can only imagine what a buff will do.

I am not Prencleeve Grothsmore.

This is what happens when CCP listens to fail PvP'ers about balance issues .. no they don't handle well unless one has experience using them and knows their quirks .. they are not dumb-ass mobiles like Cynabal's and the other instant gratification PvP ships CCP has tossed our way the last few years.

Reduced signature and slightly higher speeds or lower mass is all they need .. the proposed changes will break them something fierce and instantly make frigates the red headed step children (again). Hell, with the proposed changes they'll be in direct competition with all but the highest tier cruisers ..

As comparision, a Thrasher passes the 300dps mark while running 1,8km/s and fielding 5k+ EHP (no repper tho)

What ?

No more RoF penalty ??

Holy machine gun piercing through your ship, batman !!!

Awesome change !!! :D

And yeah, the coercer definitely could use a second midslot, at least.

Why fit a Catalyst with autocannons and not use the thrasher instead ?

I still think all the destroyers could use an additional fitting slot. Cormorant needs another low, coercer needs another med and the catalyst could use one too.

Also buff interdictors.

Yeah, because you can't burn down an enemy with 350dps@20km or 440dps@7km before he warps away ... sheesh!

The only way a frig survives a meeting with a Coercer TODAY is by initiating warp immediately (slight exaggeration for effect), removing RoF brings its damage on par with glass cannon gank cruisers for Goddess sake.

They didn't even bother to make them more noob friendly by cutting turret counts in half and doubling the damage bonus .. costs a fortune to field them in numbers due to the high attrition rate.

SAY NO TO BREAKING BALANCE IN THE LIGHT CLASSES! SAY NO TO ROF REMOVAL ON DESSIES!
