As topic says, anyone have any tried and true ways of catching those suckers?

The two methods are to jump a large fleet through the gate, decloak in position, drop drones if you got em, cross your fingers, or to spam jet cans/drones which is likely to get you petitioned. Neither is very reliable.

Other ways rely on the bad luck or bad piloting of the T3.

So you have to rely on decloaking them manually or sheer luck...

They are difficult to catch. If they are cloaky and nullfied they must be decloaked and pointed / scrammed before they get into warp. A switched-on pilot will accompliah their align, cloak, warp manoeuvre (whichever order they actually do it in) much too quickly for even the fastest locking ship to attain target lock.

Reliably decloaking them, and at best it is not very reliable, depends on there being objects within 2km of where they spawn after the jump. If it's a gate jump that is the 12km radius sphere around the ingate and if it is a jumpbridge it's a 5km sphere.

To do this with any confidence you need many, many objects scattered around that sphere ... ships, corpses, and jetcans being the most often used. When you setup a camp with enough decloak objects you are at risk of CCP intervention if your target petitions, with CCP instantly removing all your carefully placed objects.

It works but the setup is non trivial, it is far from reliable, and you can lose it all in an instant.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Large smart bomb battleships can sometimes catch them if the T3 is unlucky or chooses a poor warp point. A lot of the cloak nul T3s have zip for tank and are vaporized under sufficient bomb coverage as they decel or accel to warp. Yes I have been this guy. And yes I should have known better.

reliably? no

They can be caught occasionally by:

1. if they jump into a large camp on the other side of a gate they may decloak next to someone
2. put enuff cans out and they may get decloaked when they land or when they jump thru
3. run a lot o fast frigates around a gate like dramiels and you stand a good chance to decloak

3 Small frigs and 1 insta locking dual web keres.

If the small frigs are good en right positioned around the gate, you catch them easlly

Best bet might be heavily sensor-boosted fleet interceptors with their disruptors pre-armed, hoping that the server tick swings their way instead of the cloaky's, and that they can land enough points to overcome any stabilizers the cloaky has mounted. It's not a sure thing, but a well-prepared, well-equipped gate camp should have a chance.

nullifier makes t3 slower to align, so pro player might be able to uncloak it on gate.

Not so easy and does not work 100% but sometimes you are lucky.

What I have had some success is have fleet jump into system, move ship slightly. all ships will be around 12km from gate. will help with decloak. Then have 2 decloakers(at least 3km), 1 instalocker and a dual web rapier. If all pilots are experienced, you have a good chance

How can the cloaky petition your gatecamp and have all the items removed before he dies to it?

Does CCP reimburse ships lost in this manner or something?
