stupid question about market orders

so I put up a buy order for a few ships in jita. of course, a few seconds later, someone already undercut me.
I modified my order a few min later, but by accident put in 300mil instead of 200 mil when I entered the new price heh

I see the 300 mil get subtracted from my wallet, but who gets the excess money? The seller who had his sell order at around 200 mil, or is it a gift to the station NPCs? :P

Because a trader can learn quite a bit about the current market by looking at all the orders, not just the currently top one.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

I agree and i am sorry, i didnt express my self too good. I mean the other orders can be with "expand" button. Something like "+" on the side.

That wouldnt help in the OPs case, his was still the top order :)

Would you show the top order in region only?

From one side, adding a "layer" of top orders that is expandable is sophisticating the market window beyond need. Why touch something thats working?
And i think if that was the case, most people will choose "show all orders" in settings anyway.
Also, "hiding" the market "process" from the game, isn't something a market focused game should do.


On the other hand, it seem logical that for a "simple" player, showing him all the orders when only one is relevant seems not right.

Im not even sure anymore :s
What do you think? And do you think there is place to allow buying/selling from/to not the top order?

And something related, how do you feel about adding player name to the order? What impact will it bring?

Perhaps instead of hi-jacking the OP's thread, which has already been answered, you could start your own topic in F&I.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

In real life the "Broker" would get the extra 100mil...

I've always thought this particular mechanic was a PERFECT one to increase ISK Sinking. Why CCP feel the need to pay the seller the extra ISK on top of what they are asking, I'll never know it seems like a great opportunity to sink that screw up!
