I tried searching this prior to posting:

After the announcement of PCO's (Player Custom's Offices), the PI market doubled. However the current price history isn't accurately displaying the donnal chain?

Prices were upwards of 200k above 1M ISK per unit, but the chain shows below 900k for the spike?

Am I missing something? Or is CCP cooking market data?

Yes, CCP cooked the books. They're trying to fool the IRS audit of POS fuel profits and the SEC investigation of insider trading schemes in the wholesale PI market. It's tragic, really. CCP should know that its the cover up that gets you prison time.

Creative Sarcasm; the Price history filters outliers.

Can it really be called an outlier when the makert was above 1M ISK per unit for two days straight?

The price history does not filter outliers as far as I know, if it did it would be a lot more reliable. Its pitifully easy to fake the numbers when doing price manipulation, creating false trades, buying or selling to yourself, in order to change the price history to trick people. The only limit is the transaction tax.

The price history _does_ filter outliers - I used to use this to hide sales that were 3 orders of magnitude higher than the average price. All you need is enough volume to cycle into your own buys to make an outlier vanish from the history charts. I stopped bothering because the volume tells people something's up anyway.

I think, and I haven't tested this, that the market history does simple 3-sigma filtering.

OP: While the market may have "been above 1M" it sounds like there weren't any actual sales taking place there, or the market history wouldn't have filtered down to 900k. Cheers.

I personally had multiple sales above 1M ISK / unit... and watched the market for those two days so I could sell as many units as possible.

Other than that I really don't know - but I have been seeing a few strange things with PI Price History, this just being one from among them since the Player Owned Customs Offices feature announcement - so I wanted to check if anyone had a better understanding of what I witnessed...
