Somebody mentioned this in another post briefly and I thought it was legitimately a great idea, it's an idea that would end afk mining, make the activity not entirely brainless, and add a bit of strategy and player skill to the mix. By now I am sure most people have done a new data or relic site by now and have experienced Lootkakke. Well we need Roidkakke!

When a miner or strip miner ends it cycle instead of having the ore magically teleport to your cargo hold, 3 or 4 giant chunks of ore go floating off into space in different directions. It should be possible with proper attentiveness, ship positioning, and ship fitting to get all the floating ore before it floats off into the abyss. It should also be somewhat difficult to get all the floating ore per cycle, requiring near perfect positioning, most times most people should lose one or two floating ores.

Since most people will not get all the ore every cycle, it will allow those talented miners who do to earn better income. ISBoxer fleets of 100 miners will no longer be feasible. People will need to decide if they want to play EVE online or watch TV/do homework, instead of doing both simultaneously. And best of all legitimate miners that don't run 100 accounts can actually turn a profit from mining.

Eve already has enough problems that need to be dealt with first. no need to make new ones.

I'm back voicing my opinion which got some likes, I just want to emphasize that CCP is trying to build a virtual "universe" which is why they expanded to consoles and made a planetary warfare game based in the same world as EVE. Yes it would be cool if it was on pc but the players playing in eve would diminish, also that's not the point of this post.

You people who give out a negative opinion about mining and state that it should be an active sport because you find it boring, alters the game for many people who do enjoy mining. Just because a lot of you don't like politics in real life, doesn't mean you need to replace the entire government system and remove politics or give them new jobs.

The same goes for any job/task in any game or "real life". If you don't like a certain aspect of the game, then don't spend your time doing it. Lets take WoW once again as an example... a lot of WoW players hate doing dailies, are they obligated to do them? no. Only reason there is dailies is so you can make your gold easier if you don't plan on playing with the economy through auction house (market in eve). Also to get you to go outside in the world of azeroth instead of staying in ogrimmar (or jita).

There is advantages and disadvantages, you find mining boring, and find pvp fun? great. CCP gets your 15$ a month.
Some people don't like to PVP because they lose their stuff, these people chat, socialize, do missions, explore, mine (pve) and give CCP their 15$ a month.

Why would you change an aspect of the game for a selective audience just because you aren't a fan of it. I don't like religion, doesn't mean I should burn all temples. People can do what they want.

Mining should be more passive, less active. Like I pointed out earlier, farming in any game isn't supposed to be "fun".

---

I ask you what game makes farming fun? (gathering resources) the same question also goes with real life. Do you think canadians love cutting down trees for americans? or filling barrels of water for americans? oh yes, doing that everyday is fun... (sarcasm aside, it can be if you socialize, do other things while farming)

farming = multi task, learn to appreciate it.

edit: i just wanted to say something else, saying "i would love to mine, if they would change it entirely" is completely idiotic... that's like me saying "i hate politicians today, but if i could be one, i would love it if everyone followed my decisions"
