Where have all the forum trolls gone?

There was a time in EVE when the forums were filled with entertainment and trolling, I myself once tried to take over this role, but I just seem to lack the talent.

Has CCP finally banned all the funny trolls?

Are we doomed with a deluge of " CCP Product. is DYING " threads?

What happened to GD?

Did the trolls simply migrate north for the summer?

Will they be back when it is bone chillingly cold to warm our hearts?

OMG what if the hiring of mintchip was only a trick by CCP to ban all the trolls. I mean CCP couldn't be that stupid on hiring her for real right?

That's currently the popular theory. It certainly worked out that way; her introduction thread was literally a trollocaust.

Trolling relies heavily on pushing people's buttons. Pushing peoples' buttons is easiest when there are
"push button topics", i.e. things that invoke strong feelings/reactions in people on opposite sides of the issue (e.g. Incarna, Because of Falcon, ganking, etc..)

Thus, the lack of trolls implies a lack of divisive issues in the community (thus implying that CCP is doing things right.) Or it means that one group of people have given up on the game and left thus removing some divisiveness (thus implying CCP is doing things wrong.) Or both.

Also, quantum mechanics.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Remember your not allowed to take about a CCP employee in any form or fashion regardless of if your a CSM or not. That came from CCP to me from the mint chip saga, what a joke. Because tbh we were talking about mintchip the blogger not the CCP member those two entities are seperate. And I think CCP was wrong for allowing that name to carry over. So was it a set up? Sure seems that way.

As a troll, I've no problem with Mintchip. She's a cute babe so what's not to like. Besides, if I was Hilmar I would have hired her too ;)

OoPE has always been there, as far as I know. But when CCP moved all the threadnoughts that the trolls called their homes over to OoPE(about half a year ago), most of the trolls went with them.
The ensuing lack of trolling created a terrible power vacuum in GD that got mostly filled by F-grade fledgling trolls who now try to grow in this hostile environment to someday become the next generation of resident GD trolls.
Just give them a little more time and more practice, I think several of those might actually be quite talented.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Actually you can talk to/about CCP employee's any time you like. They just draw the line at personal attacks, just as they do when discussing non-CCP employee's.

Having an outspoken and well known young lady expressing her opinion of your favorite game, which may not agree with your own, is sure to draw an over exaggerated response from our self entitled (and primarily male) community.

Perhaps one day these individuals will get over their innate fear of women that aren't immediate family members and actually act like adults. In the meantime they can enjoy their ban.
