I am not sure what you are getting at... You want people to be in the habit of using "strong" alphanumeric passwords, but you want the purpose to be defeated by having that pass stored in plain text in multiple areas that may or may not be secure?

Also, these threads are getting old, and I don't even like the launcher...

X:\Program Files\CCP\bin\exefile.exe -(or)-
X:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\bin\exefile.exe

Right click > Send to desktop (Create Shortcut.)
Run that.
That is all you need to do.

Way to pay attention....

The new launcher (at least the Mac client) doesn't allow PASTE into the password field.

way to be clueless. hes showing you the exefile option which you can use to start the game without using the launcher at all.

Which has nothing to do with the fact that the OP is posting about using the Mac client... it's right there in the very first sentence of his post...

The exefile path above is for a WINDOWS install.

exefile.exe is not located anywhere on a Mac install, as far as I can see when trying to search for it on my Macbook.

The Mac client recently got the update pushed where you are now forced to use the same crappy launcher Windows users have.

Oh, it's there, right inside the EVE app package inside the EVE app package (no that's not a ⌘C⌘V error), but that doesn't make Clyrine any less clueless. You still can't use the exe file to bypass the launcher since it's not a valid executable. You could rejigger the cider plists to launch it instead, but the amount of breakage that will occur on the next update is anyone's guess.

Do what I do on Windows 8 when a patch rolls around and use repair to DL and install the patch.

…which is not only also not a valid executable, but also not part of the package.

Hmm...I thought I remembered seeing a mac version of the repair tool, or some such... What is done on a mac if the program gets corrupted etc? Without a computer with osx, or something similar enough installed in front of me, at this point its pretty much shots in the dark.

Are you saying people how copy pates their password are kinda of stupid, because everyone else with access to the computer can just paste it into any text editor as plain text when they are not looking?

The evepswd.txt file on the desktop is a good place to look if it's not already in the clipboard.

Well, if I have access to his computer, you have more to worry about than just your eve password :)
