Factional Warfare - LP-Payout revision

Hello there fellow capsuleers!


My concern i am sharing with you today is:

Does factional warfare pay adequate amounts of LP for the things you do in it?

After all, factional warfare is a ... pvp environment. It's focused on lowsec. It allows you to shoot people there. It allows you to shoot the very same people in highsec, too. It's about war. It should reward those players putting in effort and those who are daring. It should punish (or not reward as well as those mentioned before) those who refuse to participate in this pvp expierience while being enlisted in it.


So, .... how about an 'Effort-Based-LP-Payout-System'?

The idea is: The more effort you put into capturing a complex, the better your reward should be. Fly into a already cracked-open complex, battle a wartarget, then run the timer which is already pushed far into the opposing direction? Here, have some EXTRA LP! You desere it.
Fly into a Plex, cloak up, wait until it's 2 seconds left, decloak, get half of the lp, reducing the income of the guy(s) doing it, fattening your wallet at zero risk? Well, have a seat, and enjoy your crappy payment because the militia-authorities are watching you and are ashamed of such cowardiness!


A possible solution might look like the following, already posted in a fw-related thread in 'Warfare & Tactics', but with no resonance so far: #105 and #106


Another topic that might be interesting to think about:

Why are there tiers in factional warfare that influence your LP-Payout? The Tiers create a 'Border' you have to pass in order to make more LP. It does not grant benefits from single players individually donating LP towards system upgrade levels. A few points often barely make a difference and will only grant bonuses to the militia if it's already very close to a next tier.

How about a more flexible, borderless LP-modification-formula?

I'm looking forward to constructive critic. Please read the postings in total, and don't answer after the first few lines with your idea why this is terrible and how this can be exploited. I actually put in some effort into my ideas here, and you will see so when you read through them. If you still find a way how it may be exploited, i'd be very glad to have a discussion about it!

No really, do this. Please.

Faction Warfare as it is punishes players that actually pvp
and rewards those who stay in an npc corp and just run plexes in a cloaky ship.

The extreme punishment for defending against NPC Corp Awoxers and LP Leechers should also be reworked. I agree that a standing loss for agression of "Allies" is not a bad solution. But make it for all corporations, make it less severe and don't apply them for defending oneself.

My Condor costs less than that module!
