I fail to see how a frigate, that can fit two guns and a covops cloak obsoletes anything else. It cannot fit torpedoes/bomb launchers, therefore stealth bombers aren't hurt and if it wants to fit a probe launcher say goodbye to either a gun, or the cloak. therefore doesn't hurt covops either. Also comparing a derped Revenant to the loss of alliance tourney ships is sort of apples to oranges. AT ships are/have been lost (and are arguably far more useful than a Revenant,) but they rarely make the headlines when it happens. Exceptions perhaps being the ones featured in PVP videos/lost in the AT.

Basically my point is this sort of new ship content is better served in the hands of the wider community rather than with the few nerds with too much time on there hands, and more than likely lacking the testicular fortitude to risk them in the first place, that compete/win the AT. Give them useless trophy ships, or PLEX for there accounts, because that's exactly what these nice designs are likely to turn into. It's basically a waste of a good design idea.

Look at the stats. The frigate has the equivalent of ~8 effective guns. And no decloaking delay.

The Cruiser has something like 10+ effective turrets, can use covert cloaks, and can web out to ranges half that of that of the Rapier (20km+ with regular web... 28km+ with a Fed Navy web... and with Loki links it can touch things even farther away).

Basically you're looking at a covert-ops Thrasher and a Tornado-Rapier hybrid.

Even taking away the silly stats, the concept of them of OP. There is a reason cloaking specialized ships are pre-nerfed.

I get that these ships as they are , are OP. Definately not saying they aren't, however, the concept itself is not OP. Unless of course you're a carebear afraid of AFK cloakers. In which case, you're a baby. When you take away the insane AT stats you're left with a bomber thats suited for fighting frigs, and a cloaky Loki, without ridiculous resists, etc. At the same time maintaining the roles for the aforementioned ships that they would be similar to, not replacing them. I'm not asking for OP death machines, I'm just saying the idea behind these ships is interesting, and they should've used this particular idea for ships everyone can use not a very rare few.

Man CCP those are some killer ships.Shocked Lucky guys who win this tournament. However I kind of feel that it's a waste of sorts that these are pirate ship. Would anyone ever pvp in them? I think the Chremoas is absolutely badass. Would it be possible to have something similar looking available as a tech 2 version of the dramiel? Obviously with reduced stats of whats available for the tournament as not to detract from the reward for winning but still better then the standard dram. Give your opinions but keep flaming to minimum.

T2 pirate hulls? heck no! Shocked

now if they released more hulls to the pirate lines it would in fact, a good content injection. the Moracha uses the Ixion hull, one of the most seen angel ships in the game (the pirate Kruul uses one).

it doesnt have sense that for example the guristas have several versions of both destroyers and battlecruisers, and we dont get to see those types of ships avaliable for players.

there are gurista versions of the ferox and the cormorant, another hull for the bantam and even a gurista osprey.

the angels have the same, they have the Medusa, the Hydra, the Ixion and the Echo as aditional models.

i dont understand why CCP doesnt complete the pirate ship lines, we have navy battlecruisers so it has sense we get also navy destroyers and pirate destroyers and battlecruisers.

lack of models isnt an excuse, they're already there, just that they have to add them as playable versions, maybe invent some new hulls for the Sansha which they actually lack models and the Blood Raiders too (too many Amarr versions and only 2 unique hulls).

but for the most part, the Serpentis, the Angels and the Guristas have a complete set of subcap ships.

There are models in the client files already for every Serpentis and Gurista ship, with unique textures for almost all of them.

just say'n

in my experience it is usually the "carebear afraid" "baby" that are wanting more cov ops cloak powerful ships. i think this stems from a misunderstanding that the cov ops cloak will help them more than it helps the people they are afraid of... almost every risk averse person i know starts off trying pvp in a stealth bomber for this reason

thats not to say there couldnt be any room for more cov ops ships. ccp previously mentioned a potential larger sized cov ops meant to kill capital ships. to me this is the way to go. entirely new roles that make sense are good for the game. shoehorning new ships into already existing roles is just unnecessary while likely creating unforeseen balance problems or obsolescence of existing ships

Lol

For the record: Moracha is Spanish for 'dark purple'. What?

Chremoas is just an absolutely made up word, as far as I can determine.

Nice ships... and 90% of them are doomed to gather dust and/or only be endlessly spun around in various Epeeny videos that will soon appear on Youtube. Sad, really.

What kind of dumb logic is that? If you're a carebear you won't have the necessary skills in the right category to win most fights. If you see someone in local and cannot find them in space, that means you're safe? They could be AFK for 30 seconds. They could be cloaked with probes out that are out of your D-scan range, just waiting for you to assume they are AFK.
