I don't fly HACs much, but had trained into the skill a while ago.

It appears in Odyssey, the requirements for the Heavy Assault Cruisers was changed to include Energy Grid Upgrades 5. I had only trained to Energy Grid Upgrades 4.

After the patch, I still have HAC showing as trained and the ships as flyable, but my Energy Grid Upgrades skill remains at 4.

Can I still really fly HACs?

Do I need to train the Energy Grid Upgrades to 5?

Should the skill have auto-magically changed with Odyssey?

Thanks for any info!

The skill check for skills are done when you inject the skillbook.

The skill checks for the ships are done when you want to assemble or board the ship. Since you've got the HAC skill already trained, the ship check passes.

You must meet the top (leftmost) prerequisite skills to pilot a ship.

Example: Zealot

Primary: Amarr Cruiser 5
Secondary: Heavy Assault Ships 1

If you have those two skills, you can use a Zealot. You do not need any other skills.

If you want to INJECT a skill, you need ALL the prerequisites required by that skill.

Best way to check is to TRY AND BOARD THE EFFING SHIP

Oh, it's this thread again!

You don't need to train Energy Grid Upgrades to level 5, but you should train it. It's fitting skill after all.

Thanks for the info. Makes sense.

I did consider buying a HAC to try, but they ain't cheap. Since I mainly fly logi & ECM, It's unlikely I'd fly it much.
