Why Tech 2 BPOs aren't dumb

-They ensure supply of unpopular items that people are less likely to use invention to produce

-Invention, while profitable, takes a lot of repetitive clicking. If I have the isk to afford it, I should be able invest that isk into a tech 2 bpo which expedites that interface. Industry gets boring if I run out of things to invest in that confer an advantage

-Tech 2 bpos are part of EVE history, and their modification or removal would cause unnecessary loss to those who have invested in them

Normally it's the other side making these posts. Though I wish they would disappear altogether. Not the BPOs, but the posts. As a T2 inventor I find my operations are affected very little, if at all by BPOs.

You people are still arguing about this? Get over it. The way it is now works well enough.

There's a few markets where T2 BPOs rule the roost, however. Since they can keep up with demand, you'll find that the prices for the T2 results are far less then what it would cost you to invent those particular items. It tends to bite the younger inventors in the wallet if they don't do their market research first.

CCP could fix it if they'd reduce the amount of RP needed in order to buy datacores (more supply), as they are the major cost component of some of the less profitable T2 invention jobs. Or make the datacores function more like the R.A.M. which take partial damage on each job instead of consuming an entire datacore (lower demand and easier to adjust on a case by case basis). Drive down the invention cost on the items that demonstratively compete with T2 BPOs (where T2 BPOs are the source of more then 50% of what is on the market).

ensure supply of an unpopular item. so you own a monopoly pretty much and set the price of the product. no one else is able to compete against you.

tech 2 bpo's yes are part of eve history but there have been other t1 bpos (mines) for example that players invested into and now are useless in game. these t2 bpo's give an unfair edge on the market.

I am quite sympathetic to those who have purchased T2 BPOs off the market, they made an investment and want the return. On the other hand, the markets are distorted by their existance and prices do not reflect the true measure of effort required.

CCP has the data, they can purchase the T2 BPOs from the current owners and be done with it. No one will have lost anything.

CCP needs to quietly buy up all the T2 BPO's that are for sale with their alts and slowly remove them from the game and only announce they have done so after they have bought all the T2 BPOs in circulation.

Nah, what they ought to do is start seeding T2 BPOs in a single market in each factions space, then release T3 BPOs through a lottery similar to the one that released T2 BPOs
