Unplayable client lag in large battles.

So the last few fights with around 1.5k people on grid, like today in Z9PP start off fine, but after an hour or 2 the client grinds to a halt with massive FPS lag making it impossible to lock targets or broadcast for reps or anything. The client also froze and had to be restarted when coming on/off grid a few times.

The graphics were optimized for memory in the settings, drones effects etc turned off and all graphics to low.

Brackets were on at start, turned off later but made no difference.

The system I use is 1 year old very high specs:
i5-3570k (3.4GHz quad core)
8GB 1600MHz RAM
GTX 670 OC'd

Any idea what can be causing it? I know people with much older and lower spec systems having no problems.
I could not find a similar question that has been answered, but my bad if I have missed one.

I can confirm i have the same issue aswell. Also with decent specs,

Im also on the oposite side of the camp.
Dont know why i would get this as everything is running good and without CPU or GPU spiking in use and it comes gradually.

It appears to be an issue within the eve clients engine if anything realy when it hits these kind of fights.

AMD 8350 4ghz
8 gigs of Ram @ 1600 mhz
AMD 7970 GHZ oveclocked.
