Hi all ... simple FW question, probably a dumb one at that.

Is the choice of a FW faction at all constrained by either my race or the ship type I fly? Or can I join whatever the hell side I want and still go fly Rifters?

No, race and what ships you like have no bearing on what faction you can join. The only requirement is 0 standing or higher with the faction. Even that can be ignored if you join a player corp with a high enough average standing to carry you.
