One of the few good sides of the Incarna failure (hey, I actually wanted to see it work out), was that CCP backtracked from new school mmorpg micro-transactions (NeX) pretty hard. Hopefully it stays that way. The PLEX system is a pretty elegant way to provide FTP, thank goodness.

Man, you guys should play Modern Warfare or Battlefield where every few months map updates come out for 15$ on top of the 59.99 price tag for the game lol.

Forgot to mention weapon skins now available to purchase on Black Ops2.

Want to trade then subscribe or buy a very expensive 1 week ticket.

Want PvP then re-mortgage your house or go WoT

Want to buy ammunition, pay off Iceland's national debt, subscribe for at least ten years and kiss an idol of who ever is currently running this game at least 5 times a day

Want to hi-sec mine, there isn't a form of currency high enough to even try for it, start by selling every female member of your family, the house, the car and your PC, then when all you can afford is F2P Dust you can think: 'maybe WoW wasn't such a bad option'.

Sorry for the last point, the wow bit was rather sick .

The system works. Those that have the time get the game free. Those that don't have the time but have the money pay. Those that don't have either I suppose don't play.

I never meet anyone my age-27- who actually plays a freemium or f2p mmo.....it's just too gimmicky.

We already have f2p in the form of plex.

We already have p2w in the form of invulnerable ogb alts.

These systems are not limited by/to the above,

but neither do any of their balancing elements lessen the reality that they are both avenues for f2p and p2w.
