First launchers's versions don't have this issue !!!

That message is actually coming from the proxy where it seems to have trouble resolving the domain name for client.eveonline.com.

from proxy:

DNS Response data:
Official Host Name: client.eveonline.com
Resolved Addresses:
87.237.39.166
Cache TTL: 3600, cache MISS
DNS Resolver Response: Success

In case you have set this up yourself, check if the SSL port (443) is also handled correctly by your proxy.

Thanks for replay. This proxy serves a lot of other traffic and other connections over ssl(443) don't have such trouble, early don't have this trouble EVE launcher, this issue being after regular launcher's update.

Can you provide a log file for the launcher via pastebin or a support ticket? The logs should be located in [path to eve folder]\launcher\cache and are called launcher.2013.10.27.log or something like that.

Just took a look at it, and according to that log file then the SSL connection via port 443 is failing. This is most likely because either the proxy or a firewall does not allow requests from the launcher on that port. Please double check your configuration, and take note that just because it works in a browser does not mean it works in the launcher, as firewalls can be configured to only allow certain applications access to specific resources . Hi.
Thanks to OP for the direct links to the patch.

I have incredibly slow internet where I live, so I have often been downloading the patch on a public computer where I can't install eve or the launcher. Getting a hold of the patch and moving it to my own computer when I get home saves me hours of patching.

I have been using https://client.eveonline.com/patches/patches.asp in the past, but i does not seem to work.
Is that a bug or has that site been discontinued? Regardless. This was a very helpful feature for me. I hope you will continue to support it or make an alternative in the future.

Hi. I long time had no opportunity, to continue diagnostics.
Yes, i too see in this logs, failed SSL connection to https://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt, but this file i can open in browser. At the same time, i see in proxy, how launcher try get URL www.none.com:80. And I trust that more that I see on proxy.

PS: And I don't understand that to you disturbs, it is simple to make opportunity to download patches separately and to import them through a launcher even if he has no successful connection.

update: Launcher try open address 87.237.39.166(client.eveonline.com):443 irrespective of settings proxy in Browser, why ?? I see it when I look, what connections he tries to open from system where it is started.

The launcher should be picking up your system's proxy settings (e.g. the ones you specify in your control panel / in IE) without a problem. Which browser are you using?
The None URL is because it could not get the info file so it does not know which places to connect to.

Browser, where the proxy is specified - IE. When i specify proxy in IE, launcher beginning connection try open 87.237.39.166(client.eveonline.com):443 and then establish connection to proxy, where i see connection to www.none.com:80

Right, I've done some deeper digging, and there is indeed a problem with the network module we are using and proxy-tunneled HTTPS connections. Oops. Looking into this, but this might take a moment to get fixed...
