Eve won't run Radeon 7970m

I'm not sure if anyone on here has this particular model, or if they do whether they have experienced this issue. But I'm at my wits end trying to figure it out.

I recently purchased an Alienware M17x R4 laptop specifically for mobile gaming, most notably Eve. It runs the Radeon 7970m graphics card, which apparently is a decent card at the moment. But so far I haven't been able to experience its awesomeness in Eve as it won't recognise that the GPU is on board.

Instead, Eve chooses to run the Intel 4000 integrated graphics and does not list the Radeon as an optional GPU.

Also, after I exit the game, my screen turns into a pink and orange mess that requires me to log off or restart to fix it.

I should point out I am running Win 8 on there, but I'm not sure how applicable it is to my issue.

Does anyone have a solution or advice they could provide on this matter?

Sounds like a problem with Enduro which has blighted the 7970m, fortunatly IIRC the Alienware is one of the few models where you can turn Enduro off completely and in theory those problems should then go away.

I have the same problem, screen is a blurry pink mess after you exit the game and in the options menu only the integrated intel hd 4000 appears.

Sadly I have a Clevo P170EM, so no chance to turn Enduro off Sad

@Dyre Zekariah: just start another game, no need to restart your laptop every time. After I launch another game (Planetside 2 for example) the screen returns to normal

I tried different intel and amd drivers (intel: from 15.28.12 up to 15.31.9 and amd: from 13.1 up to 13.6 beta 2). None of those fixed the problem which leads me to the guess that EVE just doesn´t like Enduro ...

If someone has solved this problem i would be delighted to get some infos Big smile

Edit: oh I forgot, Win 8 here too

Just an update on the situation.

I updated my intel and amd drivers today (Intel HD to win64_15.33.1.3277, AMD to 13.10 beta1) and I NO longer have the pink blurry mess after I exit EVE Big smile
