Hi,
I would like to start this off on a positive note and say that i absolutely LOVE eve already (although im too poor to upgrade to a full account(: ) but I have been struggling with the market system in game... today when i put a TON of tritanium on the market I I thought to myself ''how am I going to know if someone bought my stuff?'' so then I proceeded to go on a digital adventure through eve onlines market place looking for the tritanium that I put on the market....the problem wasnt finding the tritanium from where im selling it from...its that i cant find MY tritanium.

ps. I do know that if someone buys my tritanium I will see an obvious increase in my isk but if it turns out that nobody buys it then im obviously going to want to check and make sure that I properly uploaded my tritanium to the market ...which leads back to the origanal problem (;

thanks so much,
Twinborntax

in your wallet, you have an "orders" tab that lists your currently active orders - this can be used to make sure you actually created it, how many units are still left for sale etc.

+ under your wallet settings, you have an option to highlight your own orders. if you enable that and look at the tritanium sell orders, it should be easy to pick out yours

++ make sure you are browsing the market within the same region you created your original sell order in.

i just locked an open door.. strange, yet symbolically compelling.

Always show-info before buying something new and check the pre-reqs tab.

At first you will probably want to restrict your purchases to highsec, so set your market window to show only items for sale in highsec and always "show info > location" to make sure that the route to your item doesn't go through lowsec.

1. You likely sold your tritanium to a sell order in the first place instead of making a sell order that buyers will buy from.

2.) What ship did you buy, as prerequirments could have prevented you from buying something you can't use.

Pre-reqs don't prevent you from buying something you can't use. That would really annoy traders.

I don't mean it like that. But it would have prevented him from spending ISK on something he can't use.

When buying stuff, always make sure that it's useful for you (so either to use or to resell for more).

Sorry to be pedantic, but that's just another way of saying the same thing.

Elena is correct: pre-reqs don't prevent you from buying (or spending ISK on) anything, they can only prevent you from using things.

Checking the pre-reqs would have given the OP the opportunity to consider the wisdom of buying the item but would not have prevented him from doing so.

But looking at the pre-reqs would have shown him he couldnt use the ship/module and thus he wouldnt have bought it.

But because he had decided not to do so, not because he was prevented from doing so.

I'm not talking about some game mechanic, I'm talking about common sense about doing research before spending your ISK.

Common sense and looking up information about the thing you are going to spent your money on would have prevented wasting ISK on something you can't use at this moment.

I'm talking about meaning and use of the English language.
