CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

agreed. that is another part of eve which isn't as good as it could be.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

I like my 8 bit pew pew noises, thank you very much.

Besides, if we want it to sound realistic, all we have to do is uncheck the 'Enable sound' box in the options.

You just said you unsubbed (in another thread), now you're complaining about the sound ?

That's getting close to trolling.

Sounds great on my system, not sure what you're running and if it is a great setup, why it makes Eve sound "cheap".

I usually have the sound off and listen to other music.

Haven't had my Eve sound turned on in 4 years. Iam guessing it sounds just as crappy now as it did then. Some of the music was nice though.

Ok so now I'm upset. I'm voicing my concern, don't you see that ? I don't want you to leave. Please don't call my posts troll calling nonsense, it hurts.

Ok so, that's out of the way. I could repeat myself and say how great the sound is on my system, been a HiFi nut for over 40 years and I guess as far as Games go, the pew-pew sounds are fine. Perhaps I have become hard of hearing, as I am slow in reading (so please type slower).

I especially love the sounds of bells when I am exploring Space, that soft, ring-ding-ding sound you hear at random times. That, or I have tinnitus.

I mostly listen to a decent soundtrack or two and have the pew-pew sounds coming through softly during a playing of Ludwig van Beethoven Pastoral Symphony - 5th movement.

It may be a good idea to uprate the bitrate of the pew-pew sounds, but that would probably go in as an idea to the idea forums. It's fine to discuss sounds under General Forums though, hence the name of said forum.

I'd like the old soundpack back. I think it goes well with returning engine trails. Stargates should sound evil and violent, and warping is not equivalent to driving a Prius.

I bought these nice 5.1 speakers, thinking about how nice EVE would sound on them.

Plugged them in...


EVE does not work in 5.1 and there is no setting as far as I can tell to fix that, so all I get now is a "Thud-thud" sound. Win?

Turn the world volume up much higher relative to everything else. It sounds a bit better.

Just got a new machine and new soundcard, the sounds are great to me still. Not sure what you're complaining about, maybe you need to upgrade your hardware..

If by sound you mean the sounds you hear in station, yes they suck. There is, rather, shouldn't be sound in space.
