No self-disrespecting publisher would print an article like that, knowing the anonymous thing is best left to trash magazines - the one's that write of Aliens invading Washington DC.

It's on the interwebs so it is true I tell you! - source unknown (aka, anonymous)

There's this paragraph in that interview, that struck me the wrong way, I mean, really upset me after reading about all this lay offs (inevitable I know) and all this 'we were wrong and were going to fix this' mentality then being struck with an insider interview tha still some of the decision makers in the CCP workforce are arrogant enough to believe they are the ones right, and all this is a bump on the road.

Dear CCP higher management, that arrogance was what put you in this situation, and led to the loss of subscribers therefore the lay off of 20% of your staff, that arrogance should be the one dismissed and laid off, I like to believe Hillmar doesn't know all happening inside, I do like to believe though he'll slap this higher-ups talking down on players, I hope he'll do it, or else this is just a cycle that will repeat itself in the future.

The whole paragraph:
Quote:

Earlier this month, CCP CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson apologised for the mistakes made when CCP ploughed ahead with risky plans that players, the CSM and even developers on the inside had raised concerns over. "Even now, higher-ups still talk down on players," the insider told me, "and say we have just hit a bump because some bad players refuse to see the awesomeness of our vision. We're told that it is not our fault." As a consequence of recent development plans not panning out as expected, EVE subscription levels have dropped, previously secure jobs have been distressingly lost, and morale among developers appears understandably low.

I hope you guys don't end up playing alone in the awesomeness of your vision.

"Some players" overreacted way too much. Like the morons who kept demanding an answer to the 'Gold Ammo' question, after it had been answered perfectly clearly in 3 different dev blogs, and who knows how many posts. People are stupid. A lot of EVE players are stupid. I am very happy that the devs understand this.

Also, a second hand quote (now third hand) is meaningless.

(The) "Vision"? Damn, Sony's EverQuest is invading Eve now...?

When the "vision" gets mutated by the bean counters, the game, and players suffer.

Sure, if it was quoted in some news article. I mean, after all, news articles that are online could NEVER be wrong. Blink

Because all the other things we showed and reported were wrong too right? and the newsletter and email were fake right?

OH WAIT.

They were all true. And unfortunately, according to my sources, so is this.

That pretty much sums up CCP's integrity right there.

I'm going to report you anyway, even though nothing will come of it.

Do you people really think someone is going to go...

Hi, my name is CCP Soundwave and I am here to tell you that CCP is lying to you.

Yes, because that wouldn't get the leak fired AT ALL.

I am willing to bet it is the same leak that sent us fearless and the Hilmar email.

Anyways, that being said some of what he says is true. For a lot of the developers it really isn't their fault. They were just doing their job as best they were able. The fault lies with Hilmar and the upper management who set policy. He is trying to correct this for now. I mean cmon, these guys have lost a lot of friends in the lay offs and morale has to be lower than Helicity's sec status. I wouldn't read too much into the statements. It sounds like typical morale building after having been slapped in the face a few dozen times with the reality bat.

In closing, lulz, you people actually took an unsub troll by an alt seriously.

Actually he does have a point here. If you have answered that question for the third time and still the community is ranting about wanting an answer... well the situation was exactly like this:

I definitely would have reacted like palpatine and not like ccp did.Lol

Edit: the last one in the video represents the obligatory goon trollP

He would have a point if, during any of those three times, they had chosen no to use an increasingly large bucket-load of weasel-words to avoid giving a the simple “yes” or “no” to the yes-or-no-question people were asking.
