This week after a reinstall of my computer I found out that EVE was not able to launch the updater. Even though I used the direct *.exe file, it still wouldnt update.

I then launched command prompt and launched the launcher_console.exe through there to see what the output was. It appears that the launcher update was not able to find program files.

It appeared with an error saying "Could not find "Program". or something similar. I had the client installed under the default location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE

The launcher was not able to find that location. I do not know if anyone else has this problem but when you are not able to launch the updater (it just shuts down, no message, error or whatsoever) then move your installation to a location outside of your program files, the update works just fine then.

Excellent, that worked great for me. Did multiple re-installations to see if that would fix the issue, but no dice. This did the trick.

I prefer to have EvE on a separate SSD.

Just installed on C: drive and then pasted it back over.

Bump, I am sure more then the 2 of us had this issue. Any dev response that this is being looked into would be great as well.
