So, I understand that ore and grades of ore are governed by security status of the system. However, I have really not been able to get good information on the difference between systems that have the same ore.

For instance, I know that the same ore is present in 0.5 as 0.7, but is there a large difference in the quality of the ore present?

There is a higher volume of ore present in the asteroids of a 0.5 system compared to a 0.7 system. Also, certain ore types can only be found in 0.5 systems or lower, such as Omber, unless you happen to find an anomaly containing these ore types.

Concord response time is also faster in a 0.7 compared to a 0.5 system.

1) 0.7 to 0.9 systems are usually preferred by 'afk bot macro multiple-account' miners as there are less or no NPC rats to bother their ships and CONCORD have swifter response times there. The downside to these systems is that often those from US and other timezones will find the belts emptied by the time they log on.
2) In 0.5 systems NPC rats will be somewhat stronger so if you left your ship/s afk there for a while you would incur substantial damage from them. But they are still easily defeatable with combat drones. CONCORD response times are slower but if you use your head, collect local intelligence, and fit a proper tank you will be alright and should avoid or survive any gank attempts.
3) I'm not sure of rock compositions in the higher sec systems but in 0.5 systems the rocks would be the following size in an UNMINED system:

Veldspar: 120,000.
Scordite: Up to 55,000.
Omber: 15,000.
Plagioclase: Up to 50,000.

Not sure on Pyroxeres & Kernite levels.

3) Minmatar space you get Plagioclase. Caldari/Amarr space has Pyroxeres & Kernite I think Ammatar space has Pyroxeres & Kernite certainly. There is a 'pie chart' showing what you get where but I don't have the link or it. Someone else will probably link it though. Smile

4) The Grav sites don't need to be scanned now and will regularly give Omber, Kernite, as well as low sec ores Hedbergite & Hemorphite, from which you can get some Zydrine & Nocxium from. These sites do tend to be cleared fairly quickly but they don't just spawn at DT.

Hope that was of use to you. Smile

From my experience the belts have a max m3 that is then randomly distributed into roids.
That distribution can cause some roids to hit their max size.
To go even further, each system has it's own m3 limit (Again from what I have seen) that is not equal to the sum of all the belts max m3.

In my runs, I have noticed it takes 3 full resets to max out the belts. After that, the roids stop gaining units.
This data only becomes relevant when you get to the point of belt stripping. A solo miner wouldn't be able to see the effects of this on their end.

False, Caldari Got Pyroxeres and Plagioclase

I sell drones and drones accessories.

Sorry Markus. I think I did say 'I think.'. I don't go to Caldari space - nuff said on that subject. I think the pie chart thingy is somewhere on the Evelopedia but I don't have the link for it.

The pie chart thing is:

This list is somewhat incorrect for nullsec as you really need to consider the "truesec" of the system. Only if the truesec is -0.8 or lower will mercoxit spawn in the belts.
