Summary

Greets! I am a Jita trader (full time) and I find between the spams of scams a lot of slow conversation. With this in mind, I began a game with people in local and it exploded with success.

Yes, even in the pond scum of Jita, there can be fun! While I'm running the Gift For Gift game, I will put messages in Local. I don't use the same message each time (spam sucks!) but it will be along the lines of "Giving away free items, open a trade window and get a free item! Return any item of greater value and get added to my Thumbs Up and Thank You list! Have nothing in return? No problem! Keep the gift!"

How does this work?

When I post in Local, simply open a trade with me. I will add an arbitrary item to the window and click Accept. You then can either accept the gift and go about your business, or you can add any amount of ISK or any item(s) of your choice in return.

If you give back an item/ISK of greater value than what I gave you, I will add you to my bio with a big thumbs up/kudos. You will stay in my bio until you are pushed off by newcomers playing the game. (1000 character limit in Bio)

NOTE: If you donate an extraordinary amount of ISK or valued item (generally 5M+), I will put you in the "Honorable Mention" section of my bio, where you will stay until pushed off by another Honorable Mention (I will keep no more than 3 people in this category, based on ISK value of gift given)

Do you give out anything of value?

It depends on how often the person is opening windows with me, and if they have given anything in return.

I have given out T1 drones, minerals, T1 modules, dog tags, shuttles, T1 frigates, Meta L2-L4 shield/armor items, ammo, and generally anything I have in my hangar that I can spare (I have TONS of items that even with 200+ orders available, they move slowly). More valuable items will be given out as the game gains in popularity.

Why are you doing this?

Honestly, why not? Real life permits me to be on EVE at almost any hour of the day (see final section) and I like adding the warm fuzzy factor back into what is otherwise known as the center of all scum of EVE.

If you're giving away free stuff, how are you not broke?

This game is funded in 2 ways.

The first way is that whenever someone gives me an item of greater value, I sell it and use the proceeds to cover future gifts.

The second way is that I am an active Jita Trader and make enough ISK to cover losses.

Any other rules?

-If you play more than 3 times in a day and don't give anything in return for any of the gifts, I will close trades with you for that day.
-I can't grant any special favors. Regardless of the value of your return gift, I cannot give you anything more than an Honorable Mention (big warm green text in my Bio). I may eventually add a "Premier" section for really high gifts, but I doubt the game will get that big.

Still reading?

I am on most days 3 PM and 11 PM Eastern US time (7 days). If I don't respond, I'm not ignoring you (unless you've been blocked for being a scammer), it just means I'm afk or trading. I'm a trader in real life as well - sue me, I'm a numbers geek Lol

Join me in Jita! My bio has up to 10 recent gifters and up to 3 Honorable Mentions.

PS: Usually a few times per week I do a raffle for a battlecruiser or similar valued item. Winners have paid as little as 5% of market value for the chosen item - I do these around 01:00 - 02:00 EVE time.
