Salvaging from containers

Just a tip from a noob to newer noobs, it's easier to salvage the little pop ups from a container if you are not facing a light source. I orbited around until my ship was between the container and the light source (suns) so the container had a black background. This made it much easier to see the little items and click them.

you can also just select the can in the overview and then use it's menu action to open the container when you are in range. You don't even have to be looking at the can itself to do this.
