I'm just wondering where a good place for a headquarters would be? I'd like to think there is a place thriving with people and plenty of agents.

really good places are usually very busy - and due to suppply and demand economics are very expensive to rent.

it really comes down what you want from the HQ -- been a long time since i set one up ..

i have always just needed a corp office 2 allow for use of crop hangers .. so where was more a factor of where the corp was based .. which for us being miners .. was usually off the beaten path.

some may want their tos be in a busy system so as to attract recruits but as i dont thnk the game requires you to actually be at a corp office to join the corp .. i dont think that is really an issue.

if you a re a very small corp you might not need an office at a really expensive location ..

hopefuly someone will have a better reply than I

isk isnt really an issue although I am a new player and really dont know anything but im trying to absorb everything. ive set up a office at the expense of 5m a month which is paid as I have a sizeable size of isk set aside for this. the corp I have set in mind would mostly be about mining, exploration, trade, mission runniing and so fourth.

Close to the Doritos, maaaaan. (because of your corp name)

I would venture to guess that location depends on what it is that you all do, or plan to do in the future. Mining Corps, Bulk Industrial Corps, Planetary Interaction Corps, PVP Corps, and Marketing Corps are all going to have different, sometimes overlapping and sometimes wildly verging needs.

Size matters as well, as the busier the system, the more costly the rent.. and for a small corp it just doesn't make sense to put out that kind of cash unless your members are ok with helping out.

If you are mission runners, proximity to agents of the type and level that you will be using most often would be helpful.

How big is your corp, what do you do, and what do you hope to do in the future?

Headquarters can be anywhere. You don't need an office for that.

Example: our HQ is Jita 4-4.

Offices on the other hand can be expensive depending on location, location, location. Rent starts at 10,000 ISK.

Example: Our main office fluctuates between 15m and 30m a month depending on occupancy. I personally don't consider that a lot, since it is like one or two level 4 missions a month.

Things to consider:
* Medical facilities.
* Reprocessing (50%) facilities.
* Repair facilities.
* Manufacturing facilities.
* Agents
* Ore belts & Ice fields (if you care about that)
* Nearby trade hub (same region handy to see prices, but rental can be higher, especially close to hub).
* Access to other regions.

Jita is the best place

Of all the things you want to take into consideration, place Medical facilities as a top of the list variable before all else.

When you get podded, and wake up in a station, you want it to be a station with clone services in order to update your clone.

Also. Quick advise. If you are going to be the carebear type of corps (mining and mission running), you dont want your corp HQ to be where your members are.

HQ is public information, so you give griefers the location where to look if you live at corp HQ system.

Locator agents?....

You can use the same place as your HQ. War decs may or may not come but deccers don't need to find the HQ; only a few members.

A dedicated pilot can always find you. You are not anonymous, and you are not untraceable in EVE. So, don't feel like you need to use corp HQ location as a decoy.

That being said, when I set up my corp HQ, I put it in a system between my mining and mission operations, close to a trade hub, with all the services and still found a place with low rent. Plan ahead and you can build your faction standings to get discounts on reprocessing, build loyalty points that will actually get you items worth having and open doors to more careers, like manufacturing and research.

Honestly I don't know jack about this game though (according to certain friends irl) so...

The more I read the forums over the years, the more I swear. To god. That the typos are intentional mistakes. Part o f the encryption.

I love to use the corp hq to make it easy to have medical clones in a system that i don't want to pay rent on, because you can always set your medical clone to your hq regardless on if it has an office. This is very handy for cyno characters for a system that you light cynos in as you can have them remain in system should they get podded.

I once podded myself by blowing a huge fart.
