How to solve the population problem in low sec

I'm not going to write a wall of text because my solution isn't complicated, ideas don't need to be complicated to be good.

How do you populate low sec? My solution is mining related.

You simply put something there that wont exist anywhere else, preferably a basic mineral like nocxium, mexallon or isogen.
Perhaps CCP could create a new type of asteroid that only contains that mineral.

You need incentive to go to lowsec. Right now it's far easier to just join any nullsec corp and reap the riches in a nullsec belt because those belts are usually alot richer in content than low sec belts, alot safer too.

Imagine if low sec was the only place to mine say, nocxium, sure nocxium prices would spike incredibly but it would make low sec far more interesting for mining corps and populate low sec in no time because where there's money to be made there will be people making it.

You are forced to go to nullsec to get large quantities of morphite, why not force people to go to lowsec to get nocx, mex or isogen?

My interests include but are not limited to throwing rocks at bee hives.

Do you think forcing mining ships into Low-Sec is whats needed?
Is that what Low-sec is lacking....

so how do you explain mining in Lowsec is already the most profitable mining you can do in the game atm and still people don't go there?

What makes you think lowsec has a population problem?

fairly sure the mineral contents of ores were recently changed
i'm sure I remember reading about it in a dev blog

besides which there is lots of lo sec content
it's the players that chose to not utilise that content

it's not a ccp created problem, ergo nothing is broken
there is no problem to solve from a development viewpoint

Because it's too dangerous.

Even if it's very profitable it's safer to get it somewhere else.

If you have a huge mining fleet you will need support to defend that mining fleet.

Oh so what you actually want is better mining and CONCORD in low sec?

I agree that you could attract more people to low by introducing more unique things but i don't think better mining is the answer.

only way lowsec will populate is by turning it into highsec. Nerfing highsec to absolute rubbish wont work; it would just kill eve as an mmo.

K So nerf null by removing zydrine and moving all of it to lowsec?

The only way to get more to low ist to make it high-sec, but still call it low-sec...

To make the new ore signatures more than glorified asteroids belts the roids in them could be dynamic. "Because they are undisturbed spatial pressures have been allowed to foment more mineral etc etc". Until you have an oresite that pays out so much that someone has to go and mine it.

Most people who like mining will never go to lowsec because they don't like risk.

Most people who like risk will never mine because it's ******* boring.

A boring, monotonous activity like mining is fundamentally incompatible with a dangerous environment. The activity is only bearable if you do other things on the side or are a generally slow and sleepy person. But being distracted or slow means death in a dangerous environment.

2 ways to populate low sec

Indus one and War one

Indus One = Put some Buff/bonus in low sec like effect in WH >> some systems gets a 500% mining yield bonus and -300% cycle duration.
And put some good slots on research/maufacturing etc etc.
Npc convoys refilling markets with all kind of USeful modules , ammo, rigs, ships , they bought in high sec

War ways.

Put something really worth fighting for
FW systems = You can only dock if you are in the faction controlling the system NO neut allowed
Miltia LP store in every stations with new stuffs in it ( crappy stuff , common stuff , like ammo, modules , rigs etc etc )
More incursions
More juicy moons !!

CCP it's time to remove Off Grid Boost and Put Them on Killmail too, add Logi on killmails .... Open that damn door !!

you shall all bow and pray BoB

I dunno about that - I've been involved in quite a few losec corporate mining ops

All it takes is a bit of planning and organisation

OP is just a prat in disguise, one whose inability to kill anything brings him to the forums with the idea of bringing more mining ships to low sec so he can finally start adding stuff to his killboard. So his mom can be proud of him.
