Adding ship to ship PVP elements to missions

Hi all

It seems to me one of the barriers to some people starting to engage in ship to ship combat consensual is a belief that they require excessive skills, fits or isk to be effective.

As EVE is a PVP game I would like to attempt to propose a means of familiarizing players early with PVP in a mission setting.

If agents offered missions along with their current roster that consisted of defeating a certain enemy that has stats and EWAR more similar to player fit ships (higher DPS, EHP, Omni tank etc), I believe that players may get over these initial hurdles easier than at the moment.

Example you got to a level 2 agent and he offers you a mission to destroy a ship that has been stolen from the corporation in question in the mission brief it states that the enemy is flying a actively tanked thorax with blasters using web's, upon warping to the mission site said thorax (the only enemy in the site) starts burning towards you and upon getting into range webs you and opens up with the blasters for high DPS and upon reaching armour starts to rep damage but if you can kite or TD him he will be unable to apply his dps effectively or you can neut and he will be unable to run the web, blasters and armour rep all at once.

I belive that in order for this format to work the amount of information you are provided with in the mission screen would have to scale with the level of the mission.

A level 1 or 2 mission what weapon type and EWAR the enemy ship can use is listed along with possible counters.

A level 3 less information is given (maybe just ship type and weapon type or some ewar it may use)

Level 4 there can be next to no information such as 3 minmatar battlecruisers.

In order for people to not just go straight to a mission guide for exactly what to expect at higher level missions multiple versions of the mission should be made all with the same name and rewards.

If people are really adverse to the idea of something like PVP they are still able to refuse the mission but those willing to try it get an incite into PVP, additional variety in their missions, building blocks of a skill set that will allow them to explore additional area's in eve and are less likely to freak out and leave the game if they get war decced or ganked and hopefully fight back and get some good fights.

If you have any advise I would appreciate it and will work it into the idea.

CCP dont need to change everything to suit your play style.
