Cracking sounds using a G930 headset

As mentioned in the thread title, I occassionally get "cracking" sounds during gameplay, using my G930 headset. This doesn't happen with my speakers, so I'd assume it's related to the headset, or maybe 7.1 sound in general. I've already updated the headset's drivers, but it didn't help.
Does anyone know of this issue, and maybe a possible fix for it?

The only thing I can say is that the problem stops if I close the software that Logitech provided.

The sound suite or whatever.

Unfortunately, that means you lose their enhanced sound, and you also lose the game buttons.

Also having this problem and looking for a resolution. It's not related to EO, I get this in other apps as well.

A bunch of different internet results available; A brief summary of possible causes and fixes below:

- Proximity to other wireless devices/routers - Fix: relocate wireless devices
- Realtek on-board HD - Fix: disable/delete Realtek drivers
- USB 3.0 ports - Fix: use 2.0 ports or connect directly to MB
- Logitech G930 drivers - Fix: roll back to older drivers
- Other fix: connect headset after launching app.

Kinda annoying that there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer from what I've seen. Pretty good threadnaught on the issue here on Logitech's site: http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Headphones-Headsets-Microphones/Solved-G930-Static-crackling-sound-problem/td-p/590332

For what it's worth, I'm running win7 64-bit with the Realtek HD on-board sound. Sadly I can't try at the moment as my gaming rig is down, but would love to find a solution to this. Thanks for the post OP.

I just did some extensive testing on this.

The new LGS Software is causes this issue.
It occures from version lgs846_x64 to lgs850_x64.
I have not tested the 32bit drivers.

You need to remove the current logitech LGS installation and use lgs840_x64.exe.
you can download it from the logitech ftp server here ...

hope this helps ;)

Thanks so much for the info on this.

Installing the lgs840_x64.exe software fixed my issue for EVE.
