Ok i have no idea how to make a poll about this topic, but i think it needs to be done.

1) - I COULD CARE LESS

or

2) - I COULDNT CARE LESS

Im goin number 2, because really, if you COULD care less, it means you actually care ?

But if you "couldn't" then why would you be able to "could" after not being able to "could"?

Could is USA
Could'nt is UK

They mean the same.

The USA version seems to be more "i could care less, but i dont/wont/cant"
The UK version more "I literally, am incapable of caring any less"

my 2 pence guess...

Cosmic signature detected. . . . http://i.imgur.com/Z7NfIS6.jpg I got 99 likes, and this post aint one.

This is not a poll. 'I couldn't care less' is one and only true phrase.

I don't understand how it can possibly be "Could" for the those who are Stateside.

It's either "I could care less" because I in fact, do care, just not that much..

Or it's "I couldn't care less" because my amount of care about you/your problems is so low, it won't go any lower.

This isn't a region/language issue, it's a context issue.

Is it "a whole nother" issue?

This thread would have double the replies if everyone that says "COULD CARE LESS" actually took the time to post a response.

No joke, i heard a fellow Australian actually say that to me today (hence i started the thread) and i questioned him on, why do you say it that way and the answer i got was "F OFF". Apparently is was a mis-pronunciation.

I don't know which Americans you're talking to, but stop before their stupid spreads. I can assure you that those of us with a higher than 8th grade education know the difference between the two phrases.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

That's another one.

Someone had the gall to correct my pronunciation, by saying:

"You should practice your pronOWnciation"

To which I replied,

"you mean pronUNciation"

all I got was a disgruntled "whatever" - but still, victory was sweet.

*sips tea*

You, sir, just earned a cosmic bitchslap. The universe will be along shortly to push you down a flight of stairs.
