I realize it has only taken the last two days of buy transaction only. Though, I did only register today.. I'll let it work for a good week so I replenish my stocks.

I've been using eve profit for the last four weeks and while I did find specific cases where the numbers were miscalculated for some reason I did notice that over the four weeks the profit numbers calculated by eve profit and my own audits matched up within 2%.

I'd consider this a pretty fair test as I've bought and sold over 5 trillion (with a T) worth of goods the last four weeks. I did no manufacturing and did not leave the station. My audit consisted of simply a beginning amount and an ending amount with the character being completely isolated from outside transactions; the difference being the profit. The only outside variable was interest payments to current bond holders.

Some areas of concern were the miscalculated profits. Items that the wallet journal shows an obvious profit, eve profits showed as a loss. One feature I'd be interested in seeing, which may or may not be feasible, would be the option of removing transactions. Items where someone overpaid by a considerable amount (or a typo on my end whereby I undersold by a considerable amount) which then led to a set of numbers that are not good representation of trends or projections.

All in all a good and usefull too for a station trader. Props to you mate Big smile

Thanks for being thorough, sadly I do not know exactly what might be causing this miscalculation. I do not station trade nearly as actively as I once did, so if you or anyone else may have any insight what might be causing a 2% difference I could see what I could do to try and correct in the code if anything looks out of place.

[quote=Zylawy]Is anyone else noticing a 24 hour delay as to when your orders show up? I know its delayed but before it was only 30 minutes to an hour.

Just listed a random unit of an item and I had no issues seeing it under my "Market Orders" tab. Are you noticing this delay in other applications as well(eve mentat, eve mogul, jeveassets, etc.)?

It seems to be almost back on track to what the delay was before. but for the last week I wouldnt see my transactions for approx 24 hours.

Wouldnt it make more logical sense to have a client version of this? This could flush out the server side of things of processing more data than just an individual.

I'm always going to have some server for my own personal needs so server side stuff isn't an issue. In terms of making a client it wouldn't be that logical since there are mac, linux and windows users who play EVE Online. I myself play on both linux and windows.

I am well aware I could dedicate some effort into making an application that was cross platform, but that would be more work than needed since the core code and design for this has already been made and I personally like the minimalistic design. Plus look at how slow I do things with this adding things to this? They are but minor things so coding core code, designing an interface, ensuring initial releases are bug free and then making it so it was cross platform on all three operating systems would take a tremendous amount of work on my part that I honestly do not see logical in anyway since an existing product is around.

With a website I can easily check different browsers when I'm adding new features(I have IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera installed for testing purposes). Now I have no idea why your transaction are delayed by 24 hours, I would suggest grabbing eve-mentat if you are on windows and see whether or not they are delayed there. Nobody else has come forward about this being an issue for them nor have I been able to replicate it using my own character.

If you would like I can mail you and work with you in troubleshooting this more indepth(this will require me using your API information to look at what it is returning) since I am home for the day because there should be at most a 27 minute delay if another application just pulled transaction data.

Currently I am 18 hours and 47 minutes behind. Also, I sent you a private message.

Curious,

When getting items for free or from missions / loot or salvage. (hell even really old transactions which were not pulled via API when you started.) wouldn't it make sense to flag an item as profit rather than seeing a negative for the broker fee / sales tax?

Hmm, is it still working ? I tried to register yesterday and still can't log in and I am not getting a verification mail or anything (I checked my spam folder). When I try to create an account again then there is a message email already taken so the first time seemed to work, but still I can't log in or get a mail.

Would it be possible to get a tab with the most profitable client? I would like to know those people who are making me rich.

And a bump fort a great program! Even though not as pretty looking as EVE-Mogul, EVE Profit has all the info at the tip of your fingers and API updates pretty pretty quick!

Please don't stop developing this as it is awsome. Many thks on making it avaliable to everyone.

Also, is it possible to add another toon to a "merged account", or I have to delete my previous "merged account" and make a brand new one adding the new toon also?

Don't know if you would count this as a bug, but when you sell an item that you looted or manufactured, it comes up as a " - X%" this is due to the fees, so it skews the figures somewhat.

The server itself was down for a day or so due to me neglecting to pay the bill(has been paid). Server is down for now due to the hosting company merging with some other company/merging hardware or something else too sexual for public forums... I didn't get the email about this when they first announced it so I only found out when I made a support ticket nd the auto-sent email for that mentioned this.

They have since forwarded the email about this to me and said current downtime should only be a few hours(though it's been 4 hours now). I do apoligize about this. There may be an IP change as well so it could be a little while until everything is back up since I do need to sleep very soon.

Will keep the thread updated as I know what's going on. Hopefully there isn't an IP change, if that's the case I'll look into a free dns or buy a domain name.

Server is back up and running, nothing needed to be changed for me. We should be back to our regular scheduled programming folks.

Simple and effective, only one thing that bothers me: you can't sort on things like total profit, volume etc in the profit reports. Being able to do so would really help a lot.

Agreed, a sorting button would be very helpful. Oh, and I like this much better than Eve Mogul btw. Very effective, more data, API pull is instant. Awesome service, thank you :).

Eve profit calculates profit on first in first out basis so if you are calculating your own profits based on a different inventory method, ie average cost, actual cost (the actual price for that specific item in inventory which you were able to identify somehow) or just assume that you sell the item that you bought at the lowest price first your profit will differ.

Useful website. Helpful to find detailed information on my profits on a consistent basis, without the hassle of calculating on my own.

Thanks!
