old imac and new pc, both systems will not run Eve since down time ended.

prior to downtime both were fine.

launcher will not launch EvE on the imac, though it did download the patch.

PC gets odd alert about not being able to install into a program that is already running, namely Eve.exe, which must be running in extreme mode to survive a complete system shutdown.

"Unable to update EVE Online Client

the eve launcher cannot update a directory from which processes are running. Please close the following process: eve.exe"

opening the eve folder on pc and attempting to run the repairer nets

"the repair tool found the following process running in the folder it is trying to repair: "c:\program files (x86)\ccp\eve\eve.exe"
you must close this process before continuing with the repair"

is there something i am not doing right? surely completely powering down my comp and then rebooting would stop eve.exe from running, specifically if i'd supposedly shut the program down prior to the patch/DT?

What operating system are you running on windows? When this error occurs do you have a eve.exe process running (you can find out in the task manager, press ctrl + shift + esc to brin it up, under Processes)? Does it work if you right click it and stop it?

Edit: what version of the launcher do you currently have? It should be displayed at the very top of the launcher.
